    are you fluent in english, the person who made this quiz? because either ONE! you don't know what an antonym is, or TWO! you don't know what melancholy means! or THREE! you just aren't that fluent in english, cause some of the questions had spelling mistakes.

    ONE! melancholy means sadness! and antonym means the opposite definition! so the opposite of melancholy isn't sad, it is gay. while yes, gay in modern language means that you like the opposite sex, it actually means that you are happy! the opposite of sadness, is happiness.
