‘Us! Obviously,’ Maeve scoffed. ‘They’d worship us as their goddesses.’

Lavender giggled. "You'd be a good goddess."

Lavender didn't agree, but giggled at the though

‘We’d be amazing goddesses. Better than, um. Mars.’ She hadn’t paid attention in history class and it showed. ‘Jesus?’

Lavender giggled. "Really?"

‘Obviously!’ Maeve grinned, playing with her hair.

Lavender grinned back, leaning into her.

Maeve made small plaits in her hair. ‘You’d look pretty in one of those Greek robes. You’d look pretty in anything.’

Lavender leaned into her touch. "You're the prettiest person I know. They should make you the god of beauty." She smiled at the thought.

‘You clearly don’t know yourself very well then,’ Maeve mumbled. ‘Ooh, we can both be the goddesses of beauty!’

Lavender pretended not to hear the first part. "Fiiiine, we both can.."

‘Or you could just be it and I could be the goddess of war or something.’

"No, you're the goddess of beauty." Lavender shook her head, sitting up. "Obviously.

‘We’ll marry and that will make our things the same!’
