Lavender was doing her usual shift when she saw a camera flash. Her head snapped up, looking for the source. -
The journalist had taken a photo of her from the window. When she noticed Lavender had noticed, she walked inside and pushed into the line, shoving a camera in her face. ‘You’re know Princess Maeve from the North Kingdom, right?’

Maeve grimaced, taking a step back from the camera. “I-uh, yeah, I do know her. Would you like a pastry?” She asked the last part weakly, hoping to get this over with quickly.

‘Are you two romantically involved?’ the reporter asked, ignoring her question about the pastries. The camera flashed brightly.

Lavender winced at the cameras. “What, no? That’s be crazy, no way!”

Maeve appeared next to Lavender. She immediately hid behind her when she noticed the camera.

The reporters noticed. “What exactly are you hiding behind you?”
Lavender grew even more nervous. “Nothing! Absolutely nothing!” -
Maeve looked around, trying to think of something that would make the reporter go away.
The reporter moved on. ‘You and Maeve seem to talk to each other in a way that’s not appropriate for friends.’ -
Lavender froze. “like what?”

‘Saying you love each other. And kissing each other. That’s a bit far, don’t you think?’

Lavender looked down. “I-it’s all for fun. We both know we’d never do anything like that with each other if we meant it. It’s just a fun little joke, to see if anyone really notices. Clearly they do.” Lavender laughed awkwardly, not sure how to handle the situation.

The journalist wrote that down. ‘You seem like you’re in a teenage romance,’ she said.

“That’s just crazy.” Lavender snorted. “I’d never even think about being in a teenage romance with Maeve.” Or kissing her. Or letting her play with ,y hair. Or thinking about her to help me relax, or when I’m having a bad day-

The journalist wrote that down too. ‘So you think lesbian romances are weird?’

“What?” Lavender looked confused. “Where’d you get that idea from?”
