Some of the reporters chuckled and wrote that down.

"Any other questions?" If he got another question like that, he might join Chester.

Five journalists rose their hands. Chester came out, swinging his pocket watch.

Jayden smiled when he saw Chester. “You there.” He pointed to one of the reporters who was raising his hand.

Chester smiled back weakly.

Jayd offered his hand again. "You ok?" He whispered.

Chester nodded, slipping his hand into Jayden’s and giving it a gently squeeze, smiling softly. ‘I’m fine.’

Jayden gave a weak smile back, interlacing their fingers.

Chester smiled. ‘Any more questions?’ He said, turning to the reporters.

A few more reporters raised their hands. Jayd pointed to one of them. "Go ahead." -

'Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't your board of directors attempt to make same-sex marriages illegal?' -
Jayden winced, looking down at the ground. "I-er... Yeah." He mumbled.

Chester stared at him. 'They tried to do what?!'

Jayd gave a small nod, smile completely disappearing.

Chester pulled him into a hug. 'The little-' he paused when he realized the crowd was still there, and he cleared his throat. 'Why didn't you say?'
