‘Why?’

Jayden thought about that. "Because having a bunch of people interview you over your insecurities and not fun moments is draining." He shrugged.

The journalists seemed both stunned and satisfied by that answer. One raised his hand.

"Yeah?" Jayd asked the one raising her hand.

‘Does he have mental health issues?’

"It's not my place to answer that."

‘Ok, but does he?’ The reporter was definitely very young, and hadn’t learnt that some kings would get you hanged for asking such a question.

A few of the other reporters were elbowing the kid to shut up. "Next question please?" Jayden tried to hide the exasperation in his tone.

‘What do you think about your family’s reactions to your new relationship?’ a reporter asked.

"I... I didn't see any reactions other than Astrid's." Jayd admit.

The reporter pulled out a newspaper from the East Kingdom and passed it up to Jayden.

Jayd reluctantly took it. "Thanks." He opened it up.

The paper wrote about Jayden’s family’s reactions, all of them negative.

Jayden finished it, sighed, and passed it back down to the reporter. He plastered a fake smile for a moment. "It was great, I loved all the fabulous support." He said, making sure it was obvious he was lying before being done with the fake smile.
