Jayden’s jaw dropped. “Get out of my castle.”

Jordan looked shocked. 'What?! Jayden, I'm your best friend!' She grabbed his hands. 'We don't need this place, you can relinquish the crown and be with me!'

Jayden pulled his hands back. “I will never be with you.” He said frankly.

Jordan stared at him, face a mix of shock and fury. 'I'm so much better than that.. that stupid shapeshifter! You'll see, you need me!' She said, storming towards the door.

Jayden didn’t say anything as he finished packing. What a day.

Chester eventually returned. He smiled at Jayden and slid a small box into his suitcase.

Jayden stood up and wrapped him in a tight hug. “I missed you.”

Chester chuckled softly and wrapped his arms around him, careful not to instinctively touch his hair. ‘I was only gone for an hour, darling, but thanks.’ He kissed his jaw. ‘You okay? You’re holding on tighter than usual.’

“It was a long hour.” Jayden didn’t mention Jordan. He wasn’t going to send Chester into a spiral. “I’m fine, sorry.”

‘Don’t apologise, I like cuddles.’ Chester pulled him close. His hands rested on his lower and upper back as he kissed the top of his head. ‘What time would you like to leave tomorrow?’

Jayden held him close. “I don’t mind. Whenever you want.”

‘Early, then?’ Chester asked, leaning down a little and nuzzling his neck.

“Sure.” Jayden smiled. “You’re very cuddly right now.”

‘I just love you so much,’ Chester said, smiling against his skin. He half laid down on the bed, leaning slightly against the headboard, and pulled Jayden on top of him.

Jayden smiled. “I love you too.”
