‘I love you,’ Chester mumbled.

“I love you too.”

Chester nestled close, closing his eyes. A few hours passed of them cuddling and talking, and Chester fell half asleep against his body by lunch.

Jayden was next to him, snoring very loudly as he slept. It was a miracle he didn’t give Chester a headache from it.

The day passed. The two relaxed until after dinner, when it was around late evening. Oliver knocked on the door.

Jayden slowly woke up. “Urg…. Come in.”

Oliver poked his head in. ‘Time to go, Jayd.’
Chester stirred. -
Jayden sat up. “Okay.” He slowly left the bed, giving Chester the whole blanket.

Chester shifted in bed at the loss of contact, but didn’t wake.
Oliver handed him a cloak. ‘We don’t want anyone to recognise us, apparently that place is shady.’ His eyes briefly flickered to Chester’s sleeping form as he held the cloak out to Jayden. ‘Are you sure you want to leave him here? He’s the only one out of us trained in fighting.’ -
“I don’t want him there. What if his hallucinations get worse while we’re there?” He took the cloak. “I’ll get some butlers to watch over him.”

Oliver pursed his lips but didn’t argue, stepping out of the room to let Jayden out. ‘If you say so. He’s going to be pissed when he wakes up.’

“I know.” Jayden shrugged. “Better than hurt.” He walked out of the room.

‘Also hurt,’ Oliver said, shutting the door behind the king. He grabbed a satchel and pulled it over his shoulder, then the cloak. ‘Are you sure you want to do this? We can go with guards, even take a couple servants-‘

“If you want guards, go ahead, but I think it’ll go smoother if they don’t think we’re going to arrest them.” Jayden put on his cloak. “Besides, I can ward them off-“ he flexed his nonexistent muscles, which were even more nonexistent under the cloak.

Oliver watched him skeptically. ‘Sure. You’re barely over 5 foot, but sure.’ The two walked down the hall, down to the back entrance. ‘Do you know much about this place?’
