Elise shrugged at Orion’s statement. Evangeline smiled and turned back to Atalanta, saying, “Thank you. I will show any and all kindnesses you would give to my empire if any of us shall be in need of support.”
"Honestly... Orion brings up a good point." Atalanta says. "anyways, when they have children," Orion coughed, taking a sip of water. "Technically, they'd be ruling both kingdoms, wouldn't they?" She says.
Elise took a sip of her drink to hide her blush. Evangeline thought for a moment, then said, “Yes, that’s a good point… I suppose they would. So, really, it would already almost be as if they were one.”
Guards burst through the doors, terror etched into their faces. The lead guard speedwalked to the table. "We've had word the Scarlet Eyes are back." She says. Atalanta and Orion gasp. The Scarlet Eyes were the rebels to the Elementals, claiming to be sent by the originals to persecute the 'fakes' after the Elementals died fighting each other. There had always been a fued between all four Elements, but the other two died out. Now, all that was left was Orion's power and Elise's.
Elise’s knuckles turned white as she gripped her glass, trying to keep the panic off of her face. Evangeline stood abruptly and looked at Atalanta urgently, then back at the guard. “Thank you,” she said to the guard, managing to keep her voice from shaking. She turned to Orion and Elise. “Elise, Orion, don’t go outside. Stay indoors until further notice.”
(by the way, what's Elise's elemental power?)
"Yes Ma'am." Orion says, then leans over and places a hand on Elise's shoulder. "are you alright?" he asks, concerned.
I was thinking something to do with earth or plants, to emphasize her connection with things like the garden? What about Orion? I think you’ve mentioned it but my mind is failing me))
Elise blinked a few times, then turned to Orion. “Y-yes,” she said. “I’m very fine. You?” she added, wanting to make sure he was as well.
He had the Fire power, which is why his Kingdom's emblem is red and everything like that :))
"I'm good right now as long as you are okay." He says, his eyes softening slightly. He cared for her already, but only because they had to live with each other for the rest of their lives. "Let's just hope they don't come onto the castle ground. Where were they sighted?" Atalanta asks the guard. "Near the border. They shouldn't be here anytime soon, we believe." The guard says.
“Good,” Evangeline said. “We’ll have some time to prepare. Atalanta, I hope you weren’t planning to leave here anytime soon. I’m not sure it would be safe.”
"I was planning on leaving tomorrow morning, since i know Orion is in good hands... but now i don't want to leave him, with these rebels out." Atalanta says, placing a hand on Orion's shoulder. "he's my only son, i cannot let anything happen to him. not like his... brother." Orion winced when his dead brother was mentioned. A scouting party, him and Orion, who was just a small child, included, ran into the water Empire's party, while it was still around, and chaos had erupted. in the aftermath Orion stumbled around and found his older brother slumped against a tree, blood dripping from his mouth. it still hurt to remember.
