Add 'like' figures. Numbers are my strong point, story problems, not so much.
-
ThornedRose is correct.
(9x^2+3x-2)+(3x^2-5x-3)
There is an add sign, so you add:
9x^2+3x^2=12x^2
3x+-5x=-2x
-2+-3=-5
Put it in order
12x^2-2x-5
