He reached awkwardly across to her seat, patting her gently on the back.

I sighed and closed my eyes, despite the awkwardness. "Thanks." I muttered quietly.

He stared at her for a moment.

"What?" I asked noticing him staring.

"It's just..." He frowned. "Sorry about your mom."

I shook my head again. "I-It happened a long time ago, I should just let it go like my father always told me to."

He sighed. "It's okay for you to miss her, though." He knew how she felt. Sure, he missed his father more, but...

"Yeah, but he told me it was to big a part of my life..." I said. "I remember, when she died, I wouldn't feed, or leave my room. They had to force me to drink. It was like that for a few months..."

"How old were you?"

I smiled weakly. "I age very slow. But I looked about seven at the time."

"How old were you really?"

"twenty-five."

"And now you're..."

"Like, 280?"
