A lone tear rolled down my cheek, kind of like in the movies. -
I took in a breath, wiping away her tear with my thumb. "Please don't cry... You don't deserve to cry..."

"I'll try to keep it together."

"Okay. So how about it?" I gestured towards the lake.

"Umm...do we need swimsuits?"I asked stupidly, even though I knew what the answer would be.

"Nope. Undergarments serve as those, I guess."

"Okay, but...would you mind turning around..until I'm in the water?"

I nodded. "Sure thing." I turned away from her, looking out at the trees.

I unbuttoned my shirt,and slipped off my pants. Then I folded them into a neat little pile and ran to the water. "Aaron, I'm done."I called.

"Okay, I'll be in in a second," I called back, slipping my shirt over my head. The cold night air nipped at my bare chest. I then took off my jeans. I made my way into the water, maybe about knee deep, before diving underneath.

The water chilled me to the bone but it felt good compared to the hot, stuffy air of the cafe. I had seen Aaron dive in, but he hadn't come up yet.
"Where is he?"I wondered. -
I propelled myself forward through the water, skimming just above the sandy riverbed. After about a minute I broke the surface, a few feet away from her.

A few seconds after he came up, I went under, and silently swam up behind him. Grabbing his shoulders, I pulled Aaron under.

I let out a stifled laugh before submerging underwater once more, this time by force. I kept my eyes open. I could faintly make out Phoebe's silhouette against the sea of black.
