The first one would complement who you already are more. The black lowlights in it will make it look better on you and compliment your skin tone etc....
I also think the first one will be better because you won't be in for as much of a let down if something goes wrong or it doesn't come out right... -

These colors aren't covering my whole head
They're going to be highlighted!
And I have thick curly hair
