Have you ever heard of the pledge of allegiance? You know, the one that goes:
I pledge allegiance room the flag
of the United States of America
And the the Republic, for which it stands.
One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all?
America was founded under a Christian nation, and I guess now days we are the total oposite of what we used to be, but that is why what I was originally stating was in relation to the direct converse between how the nation used to be, and how it is now.
Like I said you wouldn't understand, because along with the other reason I gave you, I am unable to present you with the whole picture of my theory so you can only oppose the piece that you hear which is broken in your mind. Oh, and if we have freedom of religion and all that crap, then why do people oppose and judge Christianity and anything that opposes the homosecuality? I mean, doesn't freedom of religion also mean tolerance? Isn't tolerance what this nation preaches these days? If that is the case, then why can't people tolerate Christianity? Must everyone run out the door with their fists flying just because I don't agree that a man and man or woman and woman being together is the just and disagree with it completely? I mesn, you did say freedom of religion and separation of the church and government so why the hell does the government crash down on religion all the time, but when the church goes to oppose the government the whole nation fresks out? Where is the justice, equality, and tolerance in that? -
*sigh* alex, you still aren't making any sense. I could try to guess what you mean by that, but what I am guessing sounds very passive and liberal and I don't think you are like that.

Just going to say-
At a point in time,
the part in the pledge of allegiance where it goes:
"One Nation, Under God-"
The "Under God" part, wasn't always there.
To add onto it, I'm thinking people who read about nightmares, are bing influenced by it.. -

Have you ever heard of the story of how that got there? People freaked out because of the whole communism thing, so they thought putting "Under God" on our money and in our Pledge of Allegiance would fix the fear. As I said before, Christianity likes to be in control.
America was created with the belief that all religions are equal. Not Christianity being on the top and then all of the other religions trail behind it.
People can tolerate Christianity when it isn't trying to shove its beliefs down everyone's throats. Maybe you should start being respectful of how other people were created and stop saying "you shouldn't do that because the Bible says so". It's not your life. And it's very rude and childish when you tell other people how to live their lives. The thing about Christianity and the government is that Christianity wants everyone to follow the Bible, and the Government wants everyone to believe in what they want without having it forced upon them. And that is why people freak out when Christianity tries to put it's own thoughts in the Government. Because you're taking away people's rights as humans. -
Megan, I understand that point and I'm not like that. In my belief God judges all humans equally no matter what religion or non-religion they belong to. I don't put Christianity on a pedestal whatsoever.
-
And that's completely fine and I respect that. As long as you don't degrade others, then you can do and believe in whatever you want.
-
If you guys say God Loves Everyone, Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals... we're human too.. I am actually attracted to both genders, and I can't tell you how many times I'm going to burn in hell.
I agree with everything Apollo has said. -
The whole deal with that is is that not all Christians shove it down others throats and the ones that do are just taking the mission of all -at least- Catholics (to spread the word of God and to seek out those who want to believe but can't and give them the freedom they want) too far!
-
I just wish everyone could just be accepting.
-
Whos accepting what?
