I made a mistake, though, I also had no way out of making that mistake.
Difficult really. If I lied things would have been just as worse.

No, I think I get it. You told your friend the truth, but you kind of regret it, but you feel like a weight has been lifted off of your shoulders by telling the truth, and that makes you feel better. But I don't understand the mistake? Unless if your friend then told someone, when you didn't want them to.

The mistake was letting her know, letting her worry. The only person she would probably tell is her counselor, but we share the same counselor, so it's no big deal if she tells her. I just feel bad that she's now worrying.
