? Um.... That doesn't really make any sense to me. I can understand if maybe a spirit was in my room and that's what they smelled like, but I don't see how they can just make me smell them.

Yes ghosts can make a scent specially if they died with perfume or burnt to death stuff like that, you would smell burnt meat etc
People claim to be special but really its because the ghost lets themselves been seen or smelt you can not have a special power for that unless you do black magick :/ -
So apparently the ghost i saw was like stabbed to death or something O.e
kish, some people can and cannot see ghosts. I know i can without "Black magic" because someone died at our school a few years back and i saw her and nobody else said they did when I asked even though she was like right next to them -
I can see a girl with long black hair and pale skin sometimes...

I will repeat again, the ghost chose for you to see her that is why the others didn't see her
Of course some say it is possible for people to have a gift to see ghosts but I am still skeptical about that one -
