"In rural Southern Illanois, a toy company began selling "realistic" baby dolls to expectant mothers. But apparently after the mother had her real child, the baby would start crying. Eventually the "rocking motion" advised to calm it down wasn't working, and you couldn't stop it without shaking it.
Eventually, when it started crying, the parent would have to beat it to keep it crying, and the thrashings had to get harder and harder to work. The only thing that seemed to stop the crying permanently was to bash it's head against the wall to destroy whatever mechanism triggered the crying.
On more than one occasion, the neighbors called to report child abuse, and when the police arrived they found the bloody remains of infants spread around the walls and floor, in most cases the mother couldn't understand why the police were there, she claimed she had gotten rid of "the stupid doll" as she calmly rocked a baby shaped bundle in her arms." -
