idk, i was trying to make it something pony-related instead of "flipping" or something, but i couldn't think of anything.
pokemon is a game where you are the main character and you live in a magical world filled with creatures called pokemon. you can catch pokemon and keep them in balls called "poke balls" and train them. as you train them more, they gain levels and become stronger.
every kind of pokemon has a certain type. there are 17 types-normal, fire, grass, water, psychic, electric, ice, rock, dark, steel, bug, dragon, fighting, flying, poison, ground, and ghost. some types are stronger than others. (technically, there are now 18 types-the eighteenth is called fairy.) some pokemon have two types.
as your pokemon level up, they learn moves. there are 3 different kinds of moves-physical, special, and status. physical and special moves will hurt the target (i may be wrong on that). status moves will affect you or your foe's stats.
stats are certain qualities that determine how strong your pokemon is. as you level up, you also increase your stats. each pokemon has a base stat level. stats can also be determined by things called "natures" that will affect which ones grow more and less.
items are also a big part in the game. when you defeat other trainers, who also have pokemon, you can get money and spend it on items that can affect the pokemon's stats or restore its health points (the health it has when in battle). some items cost more than others.
as you progress along the story, you will find gym leaders in certain towns. these are strong trainers-and if you beat one, they will give you their badge. if you collect all 8 badges you get to progress to the pokemon league where you will fight the strongest trainers of all-the elite four. if you beat them, as well as the champion, you are basically the strongest trainer.
there are also different regions. pokemon are separated by generations...which are...um...well, each generation has its own pokemon. usually there are more than 100 pokemon in each generation. each generation has its own region as well, which is a part of the pokemon world. a land.
at the start of the game, you will be given a starter pokemon. in each generation, there are three starter pokemon, who act as rock paper and scissors. the starter pokemon are always fire, grass, and water types, because water beats fire, fire beats grass, and grass beats water. there is an entire table of what type is strong against what. but anyway, you have a rival in the game too, who always picks the pokemon strong against yours, and you will have numerous battles with him/her throughout the game as well as the several pokemon trainers scattered around everywhere. the professor is the one to give you your first pokemon. there is a professor for each region.
