it was getting a bit late, it was now dark outside

Jake finally piped up. "Where am I allowed to sleep?"

"there is an extra bed in my room" I said, it felt like my heart was skipping beats

Typically, whene someone asks something, it is polite to answer. -
"Alright." It took strenuous effort for Jake to stand. He puffed a sigh of pain. "What time is it...?"

I looked over at a clock on the wall, "it is 9:30, we have to go upstairs" I said
