Yes exactly, and they don’t want to continue the cycle of being stressed and anxious, since Jayden was always getting criticised by his family and the council and Chester thought he had to be perfect to be liked, and since Maeve was always so stressed, they never put pressure on Delphi or made it so they HAD to rule, just like “hey so you can rule this huge ass kingdom if you want but like if you don’t want to that’s cool” it was just given to them by their tutor so when the tutor is fired they’re like “huh this isn’t so bad”

How old would you like Delphi to be when the tutor gets fired? I’d say 12-14 maybe unless we wanted to give her a love story

I imagine Delphi just walked up to Chester and Jayden at 10 and went “I don’t feel like I’m a boy or a girl” and Jayden got excited so he started lecturing her about gender identities, hence her nonbinary status
Chester and Jayden’s youngest kid is Felipe. He was adopted by the two as a baby, so royalty is all he’s ever known and he is absolutely fine with that
I think he’d be about 8, but I’m not sure. He’s a very feminine kid and likes wearing both dresses and pants, and definitely takes after Jayden in the sense that he’s more of a feral kid
He’s very fond of reading and follows his sibling around a lot since they’re his role model, and he’s a daddy’s boy. Calls Chester “father”, but he has a lisp where it’s hard to say the TH sound so usually it’s “papa” and Jayden “daddy” or “dad”
He doesn’t have the same tutor as Delphi so he doesn’t have many issues with being royal, especially since he’s younger, and his main issue when he grows up will be around his self-image (not to do with gender dysphoria but more looks and self esteem, since Jayden trained him out of that early (he has a gap in his teeth and moles on his face and body, also heterochromia (left eye is brown and right is blue) so he’ll grow to be self conscious about his looks because kids suck) and fear of the great beyond
Chester and Jayden took a different route with Felipe since Delphi didn’t have much of a social life and he did first and second grade in school, but he was bullied so he was taken out, and ended up being a creative introvert (LOVES music and books), unlike Delphi, a socialising extrovert but can’t because she has no energy for anything other than studying. Delphi craves friends but she HAS to stufy -
We don’t have many disabled characters so I could make Felipe disabled from him being abandoned as a baby, since he was from a poor family and possibly suffered malnutrition, was nursed back to health at the orphanage, but suffered from a weak limb because of this. But that would make him too similar to Viktor and give him Main Character Syndrome and Author Bias because I’ll love him too much
So he could have issues with his self image, self esteem, and issues with being perceived because he’s feminine and disabled and “weak”, because his one limb is weak and he needs help with tasks
This could also give Chester some flashbacks with his father, because his father was the same except it occurred to him in his 30s and got worse in his 40s, so he couldn’t walk normally at 45 and it didn’t affect him in his childhood. Chester saw his dad being chronically ill and was worried sick, so now that his only son is sick as well he gets a lot of anxiety about that. If Felipe does end up being disabled, I imagine his leg would be pretty much paralysed by 25, so he’d get a prosthetic or be a wheelchair baddie. If he gets a prosthetic he could also love engineering and that’s where his Creative Introvert gets fed and he makes his own leg. -
He wouldn’t struggle with being a imperfect or weak, moreso with what other people think and how they perceive him, he’d be self conscious about how he looks limping around and also how pretty he is

It would probably be a genetic thing (whether it can actually happen or not is irrelevant because this is a fantasy world) where one limb can be weaker than the other, and slowly get more weaker, eventually paralysed when the condition takes full effect. People often get their bad limb amputated or just spend their lives in a wheelchair. Felipe could get it amputated and make his own much more functional leg that’s also pretty. He could decorate his disability and realise that being differently abled doesn’t make him any less pretty or likeable

I’d like a romance plot for Delphi just to keep the cute romance theme of the jester universe, but it doesn’t really matter to me. We could go for 15 just to be safe?

Oki sounds good to me, they could meet their boygirlfriend during one of their midnight escapes then :D That would make Jester around 38-40 I imagine. Do you want to make the character Delphi crushes on or shall I?

You can take Delphi if you want, they’re your super sigma character and I can play the not sigma tutor so we can have those little scenes. I’m happy to play them if you don’t want to but I always imagined you being Delphi it just makes sense you’re literally Delphi
