Our "When Will I Die" Quiz?

  1. What is your age?
  2. What is your gender?
  1. The door opens and I can see a small blue flame. Its light isn't bright like the real fire, but can be used to look in dark places. The light moves up, up, up, until I can see a face. Riley. I try to even my breathing, and grap my small darger on the night stand before they can see. I won't hurt them - unless they try to hurt me. The blade is cold on my warm skin, almost like ice. "She's over here." Riley whispers. I close my eyes, which makes the situiton so much better - for them. I wait until the fire is causing the darkness inside my eyes to dance a low blue. I crack my eyes, just enough for me to see and they still think I'm asleep. The flame is right in front of my eyes, blinding me. I quickly close my eyes, and all I can see are white spots. The bed sinks on the other side. Oh crap. I turn as quick as I can and land on something hard - and soft. I can see from the flame that I land on Eric. Wait, Eric? I push the blade up into his throat. "Why are you hear?" I demand. I watch as his adam's apple rises as he swallows. His blue eyes are full of fire, but his face stays clear of any emotion. "Riley. You want to take this?" I turn my head slightly and watched as Riley comes forward. The fire is still in his hand. I watch as it wraps around his fingers and drips from his nails. The fire just disappears before it can it the ground, making little puff's of smoke. "Ok," he looks at me with a pointed look, "but first get off of Eric. Now." I consider the options. If I do get off Eric then they might corner me and drag me who knows where. But if I stay here, then I risk having the building catch on fire. I ease off him, standing at the edge of the bed. Eric rubs his neck, even though there's no mark. "Again, why are you here?" Riley sighs. "Mark wants you to come back. He said that you need to come back. And not my words but his words, 'She is in loads of danger. I need you to protect her.' What does that mean?" I avoid his and Eric's eyes. I'm so not talking about this. "Is there anything else that he...uh mentioned about me?" Eric is the one to talk. "No. He said its your story. I don't think I've ever seen him so serious." His lips twitch at the edges.
  2. I walk over to the night stand and grab my cell. The harsh blue light tells me that I have only slept a few minutes. Well hell. I dial Mark's number. I start tapping my foot to the beat of the annoying ringing. Finally I hear, "So did you find them?" I can hear the laugh in his voice. "Not funny!" I snap. There's a pause then, "I'm guessing they found you?" "Yes. And you thought that I would come quietly?" "No," He's smiling, I can hear it in his voice, "but I was hoping you would still be sleeping and they could just take you." "Kidnap me!" I explode. "You wanted them to kidnap me! Do you know how messed up that is?!?" "Wait. Let me talk. You'll understand." As Mark starts I sense the two guys looking at me. Apparently there has been murders in towns and cities. "We think that it's Thanatos." The blood drains from my body. I feel weak and my legs give out. I land on the bed, sitting up, but I could have passed out for all I cared. Thanatos. Oh no. No, no, no!
  3. "You still there?" Mark whispers. "Yes." My voice sounds shaky and hallow. I watch as Riley and Eric exchange confused looks. Good. They really don't know. "We think he's looking for you. That's why we need the guys to protect you. Lily and Grace agree with me. As for David, not so much." I smile. Grace and David are Mark's and Lilly's "parents". Mark is the master of fire, Lilly the teacher of earth, Grace teller of air, and David the lord water. They were the ones that found me and took me in when I was ten. I can still hear David cracking jokes and Lilly trying to convince me to come with them. It hadn't gone over all that well, but I did in the end go with them.
  4. "And, why did David side with me?" I ask. If only I could be distracted for, like, two seconds, my heart might stop jumping out of my chest. "He said you could handel youself. But I rather be safe than sorry. Your like the little sister I don't have." He adds, so quite that I can bearly hear him. I sigh. "Fine. I'll go. But they don't need to always watch me." Great. I just sold my soul off to the devil. "Yes! Thank you! And how many does that make?" He's baiting me, but I smile. "Thirty-two." And we both laugh. "Ok. I'll be outside in a few minutes. Make sure your ready. Lilly offered to pay the rent." I nod, then realize that he can't see me. "Thanks." I say, then hang up. The two are looking every where else but me. And, is Riley smiling? "I have to get ready. So if you wouldn't mind." I point to the door. "Sure." Eric starts walking toward the door. "Riley, you coming?" Riley still looks at me and I think I see pity in his eyes. Is it for me? Or mabey him? "Coming." He answers and walks out the door without a backward glance.
  5. I bite my lip, trying not to scream. Thanatos. His name bounces around in my head, giving me a headache. I'm tired and don't feel good. Could this get any better? I walk zombie like into my closet and grab my suitcase. Filling it with clothes and toiletries, I think of my life. Since I was six, I've been on my own. Nobody came after me, no one cared. My parents did, I think. I close my eyes, and feel hot tears running down my cheeks. Yes, my parents cared, and now there dead. I quickly throw what ever I see and don't stop until its hard to zip. I walk toward the door and past a mirror. My face is blotchy and red. My eyes look alien to me, all blood red and twice there size. I wash my face and pull on a pair of jeans. I don't really want to walk out in my underwear. Out of the corner of my eye I see my midnight black ninja outfit. My heart feels like its getting squeezed. Tyler. What will he think when I'm not at work? Will he come here? Will Lilly tell him where I am? Please Tyler, I think as I grab the outfit, please stay out of this.
  6. Eric is wating for me outside my door. He's leaning against the wall, head bowed. "So," I say causally, "were's your partner in crime?" He looks up at me with wide eyes. I still can't believe how bright they are. But there's more. The deepness in them is hidding something, I can see it but I can't tell what it is. "Down in the parking lot. He left after you threw us out." He smiles and I can't help but do the same. "Come on," he sticks his hands in his pockets, "lets go meet fire boy." We start walking down the hall. "Hey Eric?" "Hmmm?" "Sorry I hurt you earlier, its something I'm use to when that sort of thing happens." He nods, still looking down the hall. "That's ok. I mean, it I was in your shoes I would do the same thing. Hey, how did you do the opposite element thing? I can't do that and I can bend water too." "Pratice." I say too quickly. And I start walking faster.
  7. The car is a sleek black color with four doors. It looks like black water, something that runs through your fingers. The car purr's softly, silent and fast. I walk around the back and the trunk pops open for me. I put my dark blue suitcase in the dark hole and close the door. When I reach for the door handel, a man opens it or me. "Miss." Is all he says and I slide into the back. Riley sits beside me, looking out the window. The car starts going down the road, the soft purr almost like a lullaby. I start feeling really tired and my eyelids droop. I lean against the window watching as the lights flash by me in a blur.
  8. *Riley's POV* Amber falls asleep even before we're at the first stop light. Her whole look changes. She usually has an expression like 'I could are less what you say' one. But now she looks calm, almost peaceful. Why does she always have that look? Mabey she's trying to look toughier than she really is. But I remember what she told Mark before she left. "I can take care of myself. I have since I was six." Did that mean that her parents didn't care about her? Or did it mean that they were dead? And what happened in her life that was so bad? I mean, we all had a bad background, but could her's be worse? I look at her again. Her long black shines when the street light catches it. Her skin is an ivory color, beautiful and flawless. I had been so mad at her earlier, for trapping us, and making everything look easy. I had worked hard to get to where I am in bending fire and she uses water like its no big deal. I remember the first time I used fire - I had burned so many trees and was pissed off. I was also really tired. But now it was hard to be mad. Mark told us to go after her. "No." I snapped. I didn't want anything to do with her. She ment nothing to me. Mark put his hand on my shoulder. "Riley. You need to understand. That girl has been through so much." His voice hitched, and when I looked at his face, his eyes were full of pain and regret. "Please, just go after her." And then he left. It had been the look that changed my mind. The window stopped blaring fake light and a much softer glow took over. The moon was full and beautiful. It reminded me of Amber's skin and when I looked over at her I froze. Her skin seemed to glow and glitter. The light caught her skin and threw back the light like small pieces of glitter were embeded in her skin. It was a low light, but so beautiful. And her hair. It looked glossed over, all shiny and black. Her hair color never seemed to end, the depth of it never-ending. The car pulled to a stop and the driver said, "We are here." Me and Eric got out. "I'll get Amber." I said quickly. Eric nodded. "I'll go in the house." I didn't wait to see if he went in side, just went on the other side of the car. Amber was still asleep and I manged to get her out with out waking her. She was super light, almost feather like. I started walking and was over powered by the smell of rain and roses. It was a light scent, but smelt so good. Amber buried her head in my chest and sighed dreamily. I smiled. She was warm and smelled amazing. For the first time in my life, I think I'm falling in love.
  9. *Amber's POV* I watched as color flooded the sky. Purples, pinks, and oranges never looked better together. They seemed to warp together in perfect rhythm. The grass was soft and warm, the soil rich and dark. The tree I leaned against gave off a pleasent scent of apples. The fruit was a deep red, the skin looking plump and full of sweet juice. I watched as an apple fell into my open hands, perfectly fitting. The apple feels cold and alive in my hands, almost like it was ment to be. I bring the fruit to my lips, and bite into the delicate skin. Sweetness pours into my mouth, runs down my throat, and fills my very soul with love and happiness. The fruit is even better than I would have ever thought, and before I know it, its all gone. I sigh happily and watch the colors swirl. This is what Heaven must be like, I think. I expect the small part of pain to enter my heart, but it doesn't. The every feeling of lightness is so wonderful that I laugh. I've never felt this good, not when I met Tyler in the ally, or when I started bending, or even when I was filled with darkness and its power. Here I'm happy. Here I'm filled with love.
  10. I slowly open my eyes, wishing I was still dreaming. I have never felt like that. It was better than anything. I rolled over in the sheets, still feeling half-asleep. I see red numbers staring at me. The time is only 1:09. I sigh and fall back asleep as soon as I close my eyes.
  11. I'm in a cavern. I know because I can see stalagmites and stalactites. There either hanging everywhere or growing up into a sharp point. I shiver. The air is so cold and I feel like I'm going to jump out of my skin. I start walking, feeling the walls and slowly desending. The air gets worse. It goes from cold to bitter in an instant. My teeth start chattering and I can't feel my fingers. Why am I here? I think, my brain slowly going numb. I come to a stop suddenly, as if I no longer control what I do. A fire starts up and I see a horribly handsome. His skin is a carmel color, looking so sweet and warm. He has dark, long hair that curls behind his ears. He wears nothing but torn jeans, that are dangerously low. His eyes are dark and almost black. They seem to eat the fire up as it dances across them. Wait. He looks so familiar. He stretches and then I see it. Running across his left shoulder to his right hip is a scar. I remember how that got there. It was because I put it there. I can't stop staring at the man that ruined my life. Thanatos.
