A Simple Hogwarts Story Part 1. {Revised Edition}

Hello there my lovely people of the Earth. It's Aria and this is my revised edition of A Simple Hogwarts Story. I know the last one was crap so I'm trying to make it better.

Please bear with me and I ask kindly for your support because it's your support that keeps me going. I hope each and every one of you have a wonderful day and enjoy the rest of the year.

  1. Basic introduction: Your name is Saphira Mendler and you're a transfer from Seven Leagues School of Magic, an unpopular wizardary and witchcraft school in England. You'll be entering your third year and you're pretty excited. You've heard all about Harry Potter and his crazy adventures and now it's your turn to find out if it's true. This series is a revised edition of A Simple Hogwarts Story and it still has it's name. I'm sticking to my roots, just some things will be changed.
  2. As you curled up in a ball on your bed, you smiled to yourself. "˜Only a few more hours to go...' you thought as you drifted off into deep slumber. The sound of the birds chirping merrily outside your window woke you up. The strong smell of coffee filled the house as you got ready to go to Kings' Cross Station. Before you left your room, you doubled check to see if everything was okay. Tears welled up in your eyes; proud of the school you're going to attend. As you entered the kitchen, your best friend, Josh asked, "Ready Saph?" You hugged him, "Yeah I am. I'm so happy you're coming with me." Josh Munday was your best friend since you were a baby and you couldn't imagine parting with him. He smirked and whispered in your ear, "I know, you'll be all over me." You laughed, "I won't but the other girls will." It was true. Any girl could fall for Josh's golden brown hair, crystal clear blue eyes and that badass smirk he has. As you made your way to Kings' Cross, you looked for Platform 9 and ¾. You decided to ask a ginger haired lady with a lot of children, more than you can count. She smiled, "First time to Hogwarts dear? Not to worry, I'll let Percy show you. Percy!" You held Josh's hand for dear life, nervousness taking over your body. Soon, you and Josh went through the barrier and were on the other side. You giggled, "Well that was fun." Josh said, "Yeah yeah, let's get to the compartments." He held your luggage and you felt bad because everyone was staring. You muttered, "Give me one suitcase, please?" He handed you a light one and you both hopped on the train.
  3. You took a seat in an empty compartment as Hogwarts students began to fill the train. Josh asked, "I know it's a bit rude but can I go have a look around?" You hit him playfully, "Sure just be back." Your smile faded as he left the compartment. You stood up and pushed your head out of the compartment, not realising the two gingers wanting to pass. As you pulled your head back into the compartment the two gingers looked at you and smiled. One said to the other, "Better introduce ourselves, shall we?" The other grinned, "We shall." The first one smiled, "I'm Gred, and he's Forge." You looked at them confused. The second one laughed, "I'm George, he's Fred. He was only pulling your leg." You laughed and introduced yourself, "I'm Saphira, Saphira Mendler." Fred looked at George, "We've never heard of you before..." You smiled, "That's because I'm new. I'm a transfer." George hit his head, "Right! So we'll be around if you need us. We're Hogwarts' pranksters," and they left. You sighed, taking out a book. As you began to read, you saw The Golden Trio passed by your compartment. You wanted to invite them but then it'll be weird.
  4. You decided to look for Josh, realising he wasn't coming any time soon. As soon as you stepped out of the compartment, you fell. It was unusual because you didn't trip on anything. You looked to your left and saw some kids sn-----ing. You brushed yourself off and went up to them and said, "Just because I'm the new girl, it doesn't give you any right to treat me this way. I suggest you leave me alone and next time, if you do that, my fist will be connected to your bloody noses. Understood?" and you walked away. Someone behind you said, "Woah, you can really handle yourself." You turned around and your eyes met with a pair of grey ones. You shrugged, "I'm tired of people stepping all over me. I'm Saphira by the way." He shook my hand and smirked, "Draco, Draco Malfoy." You slowly pulled away your hand and quickly said, "Erm, I have to go. Bye." You've heard some bad things about the Malfoys and you didn't want to be in the same league as them. As you entered your compartment, you were relieved to see Josh, but he had some friends with him. Josh introduced them, "They are Terry Boot and Susan Bones." You shook their hands and soon the encounter with Draco Malfoy was forgotten. The train ride with your new friends and Josh was rather enjoyable. You ate a lot of chocolate and laughed with them. Suddenly, the train halted. You stood up and pushed your head out of the compartment. The other kids were doing the same until the train shook and you were back in your seat. Josh muttered, "I don't think we've arrived yet." You shook your head and wondered what could be the problem. Suddenly the lights went out and the place got as cold as winter. It was as though all the happiness had gone from the place and you recollected your worst memories. You acknowledged what was going on: dementors.
  5. You closed your eyes and hugged your knees until it stopped. The lights came on after a while and the train began to move. You whispered to Josh, "Why are they here?" Josh thought and answered, "Sirius Black, possibly?" You shrugged, "But why would he be on the train to Hogwarts?" Josh muttered, "I don't know..." You thought it had something more to do with it and you said to yourself, "˜I am going to get to the bottom of this.' You felt shaken and you knew chocolate would help so you decided to search for the plump lady with the snacks. You bumped into someone and apologised, "Sorry." As you looked up, you saw a Professor. You noticed him because he was in Harry's compartment. You put two and two together and realised that Sirius Black was after Harry, or so everyone thought and if the dementors thought that, then they would expect him to come searching for Harry on the train...
  6. Professor said, "It's alright. You look as though you've just seen a ghost. Are you alright?" You shook your head, "I just saw my worst nightmare but thanks for asking anyway. Do you know where I can get chocolate? I know it helps with dementors." He looked impressed and pulled out some chocolate from his coat, "Here. How do you know that?" You shrug and took a piece of the chocolate, thanking him. As he turned to leave, you asked timidly, "Is Harry Potter alright?" and you couldn't help the blush on your face. He smiled, "He's alright but also shaken. I'll tell him you asked for him." You quickly said, "Oh no, he doesn't know who I am." Professor laughed, "Alright. I'm Professor Lupin by the way, new Defence Against The Dark Arts teacher." You smiled, "Well I wish you luck Professor" and you both parted. All everyone was talking about when you got off the train was the dementors. You sighed, "I wish they would stop." Josh held your hand, "Don't worry Saph. C'mon now, we have to get sorted." You had to go in the boats like the first years because it was your first time and there was a huge guy by the name of Hagrid who took the first years across. You smiled at Hagrid, "I'm assuming you're Dumbledore's most important man?" He looked flattered but shook his head, "No, I'm just the Keeper of Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts. Its ah pleasure, really." You nodded and soon you arrived into the Great Hall.
  7. You grabbed Josh's hand and stood by his side because of all the faces looking at you. Professor McGongall said to the students, "We have two transfers from Seven Leagues School of Magic and I want you to treat them well. They too, will be sorted into houses so be silent." As she placed you on a stool with a talking hat, your hands begun to shake. You closed your eyes as the Sorting Hat decided where to put you. He said, "Oh this is hard..." You crossed your fingers, "Please Gryffindor, please." He laughed and shouted, "Better be GRYFFINDOR!" and the same was for Josh. You held his hand and sat next to Percy Weasley. You asked Percy, as the students were being sorted, "Are they easy, the subjects?" Percy thought for a second and answered, "Well it depends. What are you interested in?" You pondered and responded, "Well so far I like Potions, Defence Against The Dark Arts, Charms and Transfiguration so far." Percy clasped his hands, "Well just do your best in your examinations and start thinking of your future." You nodded, "Thanks Perce. I can call you that right?" He shrugged, "It's alright with me," and turned back to his other friend. You smiled at Josh and hugged him, "We actually got in to Gryffindor. I can't believe it." Josh passed his hand through his hair, "Believe it Saph, coz we're going to be here for the rest of the year at least." You shushed him and pointed at the podium, "Dumbledore's going to make a speech and I don't want to miss this."
  8. "Welcome!" said Dumbledore, the candlelight shimmering on his beard. "Welcome to another year at Hogwarts. I have a few things to say to you all, and as one of them is very series, I think it best to get it out of the way before you become befuddled by our excellent feast..." Dumbledore cleared his throat and continued, "As you will all be aware after their search of the Hogwarts Express, our school is presently playing host to some of the dementors of Azkaban, who are here on Ministry of Magic business." You scoffed and muttered to yourself, "More like destroy anyone who's in their way." "They are stationed at every entrance to the grounds," Dumbledore continued, "and while they are with us, I must make it plain that nobody is to leave school without permission. Dementors are not to be fooled by tricks or disguises- or even Invisibility Cloaks," he added blandly and you could've sworn he glanced a look at Harry. "It is not in the nature of a dementor to understand pleading or excuses. I therefore warn each and every one of you to give them no reason to harm you. I look to the prefects and our new Head Boy and Girl to make sure that no student runs afoul of the dementors." He coughed and straightened. "On a happier note," he continued, "I am pleased to welcome two new teachers to your ranks this year. First Professor Lupin who has kindly consented to fill the post of Defence Against the Dark Arts." You looked at the staff table and you saw one teacher with black hair looking at Professor Lupin with loathing. You nudged Josh and showed him, "What's going on there?" Josh shrugged. "As to our second new appointment," Dumbledore continued. "Well I am sorry to tell you that Professor Kettleburn, our Care of Magical Creatures teacher, retired at the end of the last year in order to enjoy more time with his remaining limbs. However, I am delighted to say that his place will be filled by none other than Rubeus Hagrid who had agreed to take on this teaching job in addition to his gamekeeping duties." You whistled and clapped loudly, along with the rest of Gryffindors. "Well I think that's everything of importance," said Dumbledore, "Let the feast begin!" The plates and goblets were filled with food and lots of drink. *Note: most of this paragraph I used from the book itself.*
  9. You yawned as the students were dismissed, it was really a long night and you were stuffed. You and Josh tried hard to catch up with Percy who asked, "You need me to show you to your dormitories?" You both nodded and as you entered the Gryffindor common room, you stared at it with awe. Percy tried to get your attention but you were too caught up with the amazing sight. Percy took your hand and slapped himself with it. Then you laughed, "Sorry Perce, I was just admiring this. I can't believe how wonderful this is." Percy smiled, "I know, took me a while to get used to it too. Now Saphira, your dormitory is to the right. And Josh, is it?" Josh nodded and Percy continued, "Your dormitory is to the left. Now I'll be in my dorm if you need anything. Goodnight both" and he left you two. Josh held your hand as he said, "Saph, you know I'm not allowed in your dorm, so I can't come and check to see if you're alright. If you need me, just come to mines, okay?" You slowly nodded, resting your head on his shoulder saying, "It's a bit late, I better meet my roomies. Goodnight Josh," and you squeezed him into a big bear hug. As you left, you couldn't help feeling that this year was going to be great. As you opened the door, you saw a couple girls on their beds already, looking at you. You slowly asked, "Hi, who are you?" One girl introduced herself, "I'm Ginny Weasley. I think you met my brothers on the train." You took a minute to remember but then asked, "Fred and George?" She smiled and another girl said, "Hermione Granger." You grinned, "Oh it's nice to meet you! I've heard so much about you from Terry and Susan." She smiled sweetly and the last girl shifted her eyes and grunted, "Melissa." You mouthed, "Oh, hi Melissa." You noticed that there was one more bed but no one was there and but Hermione and Ginny already asked, "So how do you think of Hogwarts so far?" You looked at Ginny, "This is your second year right?" Ginny nodded and Hermione smiled, "Do you know what subjects you're going to do?" You nodded and asked politely, "Guys, I'm extremely tired, do you mind if I go to sleep?" They both shrugged and went to sleep themselves. You fell into deep sleep, comfortable with your new home for the year.
  10. Okay guys, this is the end of my first part of A Simple Hogwarts Story! I hope you enjoyed it, I know it was a bit boring but don't worry, I have no idea when the action will start.
