Never Underestimate The Wizarding World~Part 1

Hi, everybody! I present to you yet another Harry Potter quiz. I've always loved the idea of making an adventure story set in the Wizarding World, and now here it is! This particular story is seen through the eyes of Liana Westwind, a teenage witch.

Shoutouts to Ericat, Weirdhead, Ivydream, and, although she hasn't been seen on this site in quite a while, xxblutixx. Well, I hope you Potterheads enjoy.

  1. My name is Liana Westwind. I'm from Hartford, Connecticut, but my family moved to London over the summer. I'm thirteen, and my birthday is May 20th. I have wavy brown hair and hazel eyes. I have an eleven-year-old little brother named Adonis. My parents are Ezra and Poloma Westwind. At first glance, we appear to be a typical American family. But although we're careful to conceal our identity, deep down there's no denying it...we're magical.
  2. My father is Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement at the American Ministry of Magic in New York City. He recently received word that he was wanted at the same position at the British Ministry of Magic. My family had always wanted to move to England, and the job opportunity was too good to pass up, so he said yes, and now we live in London.
  3. When we lived in Connecticut, I attended Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for my first two years of school. I was in Thunderbird House, which favors adventurers. Now that I'm going to Hogwarts, I'm hoping to be sorted into Gryffindor, which apparently favors similar types of people.
  4. My brother, Adonis, will be starting his first year as a Hogwarts student, as he was too young to go to Ilvermorny when we lived in America.
  5. I'm very excited, but I'm also sad that I won't get to see Carsyn Coffee, my best friend and fellow Thunderbird student at Ilvermorny, anymore. Well, at least we should be able to take a summer vacation back to Connecticut next year, and then I'll get to see her.
  6. Currently, it's September 1st, 2019, and I'm wheeling my cart down the aisle between Platforms 9 and 10, my brother doing the same beside me. My mother is walking behind us, ready to see us off. I spot the barrier between the platforms, and I take a deep breath, as this spot is pretty much legendary. I close my eyes as the fear courses through me, and I try to shake it off. I will never be in Gryffindor unless I try to be brave. I run straight at the barrier, bracing myself for a crash.
  7. I don't crash. When I open my eyes, I see witches and wizards bustling around me, making their way to a large red train at the center of the station. The Hogwarts Express.
  8. Adonis and my mother materialize behind me, and my mother kisses us goodbye. "I hope you have a great time at Hogwarts," she says lovingly. "As long as we're in Gryffindor, that's all that matters," Adonis replies, and Mother laughs softly. "Just remember, it won't be the end of the world if you're in Slytherin," she says, and with a final round of goodbyes, she leaves the platform. Adonis frowns. "Do you think I'll be in Slytherin?" he asks. "I honestly doubt it," I reply.
  9. You and Adonis board the train and stow your luggage in the overhead compartment. Adonis closes the door, but after a minute a redheaded girl his age opens it again. "May I sit here? Everywhere else is full," she says with a charming British accent. "Sure," Adonis says, moving aside so she can sit down beside him.
  10. I hold out my hand for the girl to shake. "I'm Liana Westwind, and this is my brother, Adonis. We transferred from America several months ago." The girl smiles. "That's nice. I'm Lily Potter." Adonis gasps and almost falls off of his seat, and I, too, struggle to repress my shock. "You mean, like...Harry Potter's daughter?" Adonis asks. "Yeah," Lily says, blushing a little. "Don't worry, you're not the first to act like this."
  11. The train starts to move, and I look out the window at the beautiful scene outside as the Hogwarts Express pulls out of the station. My stomach flutters with excitement as I truly process the thought in my mind: I'm going to Hogwarts.
