  • And to further add to a different comment I made, Franklin D. Roosevelt was what caused the 22nd Amendment to be passed, because he served 4 terms as president. Now presidents can only serve 2 terms of 4 years, but before the passage he served 4 terms of 4 years consecutively. This means that there was a period in American history where the President had been the same for 16 straight years.
