  • Grateful. I remember being in awe when I got meet members who had never "had to" attend AA to get this recovery thing. I was so jealous! Always grateful to AA and the oldtimers there who took me in and loved me up and taught me Steps and Service... Hope I never forget that awesome tingly feeling I got at my first regular NA meeting with 1 year clean. Little town I got clean in had no NA meetings, nearest was 7 miles or so. Left AA for good in 2001 when I read a World Service bulletin stating their position on "helping" anyone with problems other than simple alcoholism, the gist of it being that AA was not equipped to help and should discourage people with substance abuse issues to seek help elsewhere. I thought, "I'm not welcome here, and I am breaking their Traditions by being here. Thank God for NA; I have a home!"

  • Slint,Perhaps you missed the thank you note at the end which says "Have fun, don't take this or life too seriously and remember, all you need is love!" No lack of integrity there man, just a misunderstanding.

  • Not ok to say you hate the names Bill and Bob. We used to thank AA, what happened to that? I scored 100% because I'm 100% NA but being disrespectful towards AA shows lack of integrity in my mind.
