Hogwarts Part 46

Will you get the Hogwarts guy of your dreams? Find out in this quiz. Starting in your third year, you will get the opportunity to become friends and more with Neville Longbottom, Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, George Weasley, and Oliver Wood.

*Recap* You arrived at the Burrow last time via Apparation from your grandparent’s house. Harry was transported the same day, but with a much larger group of people and with a lot more casualties. George lost an ear, Mad-Eye Moody died, and someone had betrayed the entire operation to the Death Eaters. It’s basically time for Harry’s birthday and Fleur’s wedding.

  1. Everything settled down in the time leading up to Fleur and Bill’s wedding. Oliver had to leave the day after Harry’s arrival, but promised to find me at Hogwarts. It seemed he, too, was planning on returning to the castle. Mrs. Weasley kept everyone busy decorating and planning for the big event, but we still managed to throw a celebration for Harry’s seventeenth birthday, otherwise known as the day he could freely use magic without Ministry restrictions. I teased him considerably throughout the day, as I was the only one of the four that could not use magic at home. I managed to get him to retrieve a fork for me and do some of my cleaning for the wedding and other various tasks I set up for him. It was fun while it lasted, but I soon let him just enjoy the day. But out of the blue, the Minister of Magic, Rufus Scrimgeour appeared and beckoned Harry, Ron, and Hermione into the house. I exchanged glances with Ginny and Arianna. More and more, they were becoming my own trio since the three Gryffindors were always off on their own little meetings. We waited for them to return at the dinner table awkwardly. Later that night, after some pestering on my part, Hermione informed me that the Minister had come to deliver some items from Dumbledore’s will. Ron received his Deluminator, she received a book, The Tales of Beedle the Bard, and Harry received a Snitch, but was not allowed the Sword of Gryffindor that was also in the will. It all seemed a bit suspicious to me, but she refused to elaborate and I began to focus on the wedding instead.
  2. The day of Fleur’s wedding arrived quite quickly. After weeks of preparation, it was nice to see the event become a reality. For a while, everyone seemed to forget about the danger outside of our little safe haven. Of course, Harry had to disguise himself as a Weasley cousin just in case, but that hardly dampened the mood. At the reception, everyone was dancing and laughing and generally having a good time. George approached and bowed exaggeratedly, taking my hand. “Would you like to dance, Your Highness?” he asked in a ridiculously formal voice. I laughed. “Why, yes I would, kind sir,” I said, curtsying to match his mocking behavior. We started making our way around the dance floor, and I struck up a conversation. “So, how’s the uh, the ear?” I asked, vaguely gesturing to where my own perfectly intact one was. He grinned. “Missing.” I rolled my eyes. You could never get a serious answer out of him. “I meant how it felt,” I clarified. He shrugged nonchalantly. “I hardly notice it. At least you can tell Fred and I apart now,” he said cheerfully. “I could always tell you apart,” I insisted with a smug grin. He raised an eyebrow and smiled doubtfully. I relented. “Okay, maybe not. But in my defense, I never knew you two that well.” “What about now?” he questioned curiously. “I don’t know,” I replied with a faint blush.
  3. I sensed he was moving in for a kiss, and panicked slightly, abruptly breaking out of his grip. “That cake looks awfully good over there. I think I’ll go get some,” I said hastily, and thanked him before making my way in that direction. I thought of George more as an older brother than anything, and with my history with Ron, everything just became that much more confusing. Speaking of the younger Weasley, I spotted Ron nearby, sulking about the presence of Viktor Krum at the reception. After grabbing a piece of cake just to follow through with my excuse, I headed over to him and sat down. “Enjoying the party?” I asked, following his gaze to Krum across the room. Startled, he jerked around to face me. “What?” “Do you fancy Hermione?” I asked, starting to put the pieces together. He went a bit pink at the ears, but shook his head. “No…” “It’s all right, you know. I’m fine with it, if that’s what you’re worried about,” I said softly. He shook his head more firmly. “Nah. She’s not my type,” he said, turning away from Krum. “So what is your type?” I asked with a laugh. He blushed and opened his mouth to answer, but suddenly focused on something behind me. I turned around as well and recognized a lynx Patronus in the middle of the wedding tent. Instead of warding off Dementors, it had come to deliver a message. The tent went silent, and I tuned in carefully. It wasn’t good news. “Scrimgeour is dead. The Ministry has fallen. They are coming.”
  4. The words rang ominously around the room, and suddenly there was mass chaos. Guests began fleeing, pushing and shoving to get out of the tent and to safety. I got up and looked to Ron, who was already pushing through the panicked crowd. He seemed to know where he was going, so I followed behind him. He met up with Harry and Hermione, and they joined hands. Once again, I was left out of their little group. I opened my mouth to ask where they were going, but they just shot me pained glances and disappeared with a loud crack.
  5. I stood there, feeling quite betrayed for a moment, and then someone tugged on my arm. “Come on,” George said, pulling me away from the area. I followed docilely, really in no position to protest. We silently weaved our way through the abandoned wedding tent and took refuge in the Weasley’s ramshackle residence. A few Death Eaters showed up and scared off the rest of the guests, we had to take refuge at Aunt Muriel’s, a relative of the Weasley’s. “We’re being watched,” was Mr. Weasley’s quiet explanation to us when he returned to the house. The house was extremely quiet from that point on. Without the Gryffindor trio there, I spent most of my days with Ginny and Arianna. Fred and George returned to their joke shop a few days later, and Ginny, Arianna, and I had nothing to do but wait for September 1st to arrive. Despite the fact that Snape had been appointed as the new Headmaster, we were all going back. It would be interesting to see how things were going to change at Hogwarts without Dumbledore.
  6. My seventeenth birthday arrived just days before our return to Hogwarts, but it wasn’t accompanied with any surprise appearances from Oliver, or anyone else for that matter. Harry’s birthday was celebrated with a small celebration among friends, but it just didn’t seem right with so few of my own present. I received a small cake and a few trinkets from the Weasleys, but the day felt much like all of the others regardless. It was almost a relief to head to King’s Cross Station for my last year of Hogwarts. However, an odd feeling of regret seemed to hit me like a brick standing in that station. It was my last year, and nothing seemed to be right about it. Half of my friends were gone, Snape was the new headmaster, and I had to be accompanied by Order members for protection pretty much all the way up to the train. This wasn’t the way things were supposed to be at Hogwarts.
  7. I pulled my luggage onto the landing and made my way down the corridor. Ginny and Arianna were right behind me. I was grateful for the company; at least I wasn’t going to be alone for the long train ride. We piled into a compartment that happened to contain Luna Lovegood. “Hello, Luna,” I greeted her, slumping down into a seat in the corner. “Hello, Cassandra,” she replied, for once without a Quibbler magazine in her hands. Arianna and Ginny took seats on opposite sides of the compartment. A few minutes passed in casual conversation, and then we heard a knock at the door. We all raised our heads simultaneously. A huge grin spread across my face. “Neville!” I exclaimed, and threw open the door to attack Neville with a hug. He laughed at my enthusiasm. “I didn’t think you were coming back,” I said, rather elated at the fact that not all of my Gryffindor friends were gone. “Come on, sit down then,” I said, practically pulling him down onto the seat beside me.
  8. “Well, I was going to ask if I could sit with you. I guess it’s too late,” Neville joked. “Well, obviously you can’t. Get out of my compartment!” I gave him a playful push. The cheerful atmosphere toned down after a minute and most of the train ride was spent in conversation discussing the coming year at Hogwarts and the various incidents outside of the castle. We tried not to touch on the Gryffindor trio too much, but it came up a few times. It was still a somewhat touchy subject for me.
  9. As usual, we rode in the carriages up to the castle. At the very least, that hadn’t changed. Unfortunately, something else had. Muggleborns were no longer being admitted into Hogwarts. It seemed Hogwarts was no longer free to anyone with magical skills. We were verified as half-bloods or purebloods before we could even pass into the entrance hall. I exchanged dark looks with Ginny, Luna, and Neville as we split up to take our seats in the Great Hall. The first thing I noticed was the new seating arrangement at the head table. Professor McGonagall had been kicked out of the Headmaster’s seat and had been replaced with Snape. Two Death Eaters were now part of the Hogwarts staff – Amycus and Alecto Carrow, a brother and sister. However, most of the other professors remained – Professor Sprout, Professor Slughorn, Professor Trelawney. It was an odd comfort, as if despite Snape’s new position, the students might just stand a chance.
  10. *music826* For once, I really have nothing to say. Until next time :)
