  1. What is your age?
  2. What is your gender?
  1. Well, I guess this is my Yule Ball edition. I didn’t really arrange an awesome song selection, or put together a spectacular outfit for you to wear like some writers do, but I guess that means you can imagine your ideal Yule Ball without my horrid sense of style ruining it :). So, imagine your perfect attire, play some music if you like, and enjoy!
  2. The Yule Ball came like a dream. Padma dragged me up to our dormitory several hours before the dance even started, spending most of the day beating my hair into submission and powdering my face into a flawless complexion. When we went to meet the two Gryffindors at the grand staircase, Ron’s jaw practically dropped to the floor when he saw me. Harry was a little more dignified, thankfully. “Close your mouth, Ronald,” I said as sternly as Mrs. Weasley might have. He snapped out of his stupor and promptly did so, tugging a distinctly unhappy Padma into the Great Hall with a few grumbled words of greeting. Harry smiled at me nervously. “You look great,” he said, fidgeting absentmindedly with his green dress robes. “You don’t look so bad yourself,” I said teasingly, linking my arm through his. “Shall we go, then?” he asked. At a nod from me, we entered the Great Hall together.
  3. We were required to sit at the champion’s table since we were, well, champions. The judges and staff sat there as well, and we ended up sitting near Hermione and Ron’s brother Percy, who was filling in for Barty Crouch that evening. Dinner was a generally friendly and cheerful affair. Percy enlightened us with his rather…boring thoughts, and it was soon time for the champions to lead the school in the first dance. Since neither Harry nor I seemed to know what we were doing, our dance was a bit less graceful than the others, but it was just another thing for us to laugh about. He eventually gained the courage to lift me up and spin me in the air, and I came down laughing. As he spun me out in sync with the music, I bumped straight into Neville. In the process, I had broken him and Ginny apart in their dance. We all laughed at the commotion it caused, and by the time we regained our feet, the first song had ended.
  4. As the music started up again, Neville looked at me shyly. “Do you want to dance?” he asked, extending his hand hesitantly. I looked at Harry questioningly, and he gestured for me to go. I turned to Ginny. “You wouldn’t mind dancing with Harry, would you, Ginny?” I suggested, sending her a knowing look. She blushed and shook her head. Harry led her off and I took Neville’s hand, letting him lead me into a sure-footed waltz. Neville’s dancing was definitely more coordinated, but I still managed to step on his feet once or twice. “Sorry!” I exclaimed as I felt his shoe under my foot a third time. He laughed good-naturedly. “You’re doing fine. Just step like this,” he instructed, leading me around the dance floor as if he had been dancing his whole life. After a couple more songs, I decided I should go find Harry, since he was the one I actually came with. “I’ll see you later, Neville. Save me a dance!” I said, smiling as I left him to a girl from Beauxbatons.
  5. I found Harry sitting at a table with Ron alone. Padma had apparently abandoned Ron for someone else, seeing as he wouldn’t dance. After being assured by Harry that he wasn’t dancing anymore, I went to Ron, grabbed his arm, and jerked him to his feet. “Hey!” he protested, dropping the raspberry tart he had been eating. “Come on, Weasley. You have to dance sometime,” I said, in an usually good mood. It was Christmas, after all. He awkwardly put his hand on my waist and clumsily followed my lead. Luckily, I had learned a lot from Neville’s school of dancing. We managed to get through an entire song without causing any major injuries, and I led a rather cheerful Ron back to Harry’s table.
  6. I sat down at the table for a rest, but a Slytherin interrupted it before long. “Hello, Draco,” I said, almost managing a sincere smile. He smiled in return, almost genuinely. “Cassandra,” he said in greeting, using my first name for once. “Care to dance?” he asked, gallantly holding out his arm. Harry and Ron looked about ready to attack him, but I took the proffered arm anyway. “It IS Christmas,” I said in response, letting myself be brought onto the dance floor yet again. As we spun around the Great Hall, we passed Pansy Parkinson dancing with Draco’s dim-witted friend Crabbe. It was certainly entertaining, especially with how livid she was. As she marched over as if ready to murder, I gently pulled away from Draco’s grip. “I think I’d better leave this to you,” I said with a small smile, watching in amusement as his face went even paler than usual.
  7. At last, I managed to rest at the table with Ron and Harry for a few minutes. After a while, they decided to go out into the gardens, and I let them go, rather exhausted from dancing. “Am I too late to ask for a dance?” a Scottish voice asked. I looked up, not daring to believe he had managed to come back so soon. I suppressed my surprise and took his extended arm. “I think I can make time,” I said with a smile as he led me back onto the dance floor. “I didn’t think you would be back so soon. So how long can you stay this time?” I asked quietly. “Through the holidays,” he said, his face falling slightly. After a while, he led me back to the table and we discussed the Triwizard Tournament for a time. I told him all about my new sister and everything I hadn’t told him the last time he visited. Harry and Ron eventually found their way back, and both stopped dead at the sight of Oliver.
  8. “What is he doing here?” Ron demanded as he approached me, completely ignoring the fact that Oliver was sitting right beside me. “He came to visit. Is that a problem?” I asked mildly, warning him with my eyes to stop while he had the chance. “Well…yeah!” he said angrily despite my pleading look. Oliver stood up, looking rather irritated. “Why, Weasley? Think I’m a threat?” he asked in a challenge, standing up threateningly. Ron was seething at that point. “Well, Wood, I don’t think you’ve got a chance. You left Hogwarts. Leave her to those who can take care of her,” Ron retorted, standing toe-to-toe with the tall Quidditch player. Oliver had pretty much had it after that. He had endured Ron’s jabs before, but it was never quite so obvious before. “Well, if you haven’t noticed, I’ve already won her once. I spent months with her last year, supporting her and taking care of her. Oh, and there was plenty of snogging,” he said with an uncharacteristic smirk at Ron. Ron’s face turned a bright shade of red as he prepared to retort, or attack. Before he could say anything, Oliver turned to me, still incredibly furious, and held out his hand. “Let’s go somewhere else,” he said rather forcefully, but I didn’t move. It was my turn to be angry.
  9. “Oliver, I am NOT an object to be won, and I don’t need you to take care of me. While you were at Puddlemere, I had to fight a dragon!” I said rather rudely. It was a low blow, but he needed to understand some things. Oliver looked at me with a slightly hurt expression, and Ron looked at him with a smug look on his face. “And you, Ron,” I said, turning to him suddenly. He stopped smirking at Oliver and went rather pale. “You can stop trying to determine whom I can and can’t be around. I can make decisions for myself. Now, until you sort this out, I’ll be in my common room,” I said, barely holding in a flood of tears. Pushing between them, I made my way through the crowd as fast as I could.
  10. I only just managed to get out of the Great Hall before the tears started flowing. They left murky streaks down my cheeks, removing all of Padma’s hard work. I leaned against a wall, sliding down to the floor weakly. I heard footsteps and quickly wiped my eyes, unwilling to be seen in such a state. “Er, Cassandra? Are you okay?” I heard Harry’s voice ask uncertainly. I collected myself and attempted a smile at him. “I’m fine,” I said in an unnaturally high voice. He looked at me with a concerned expression and sat beside me on the floor hesitantly. “Really, I’m fine. I just…that didn’t go as well as I thought it would,” I said with a small laugh. He smiled half-heartedly. “I wasn’t the best date, was I? I should have done something, and I shouldn’t have left you alone, and I probably should have kept Ron away…” he trailed off. I stopped him. “No, I had a great time with you. You’re a great friend, Harry,” I said earnestly, standing up and straightening my clothes. He also got to his feet, and I gave him a swift kiss on the cheek in thanks. He went slightly pink. “Well, I think I’ll just go back to my common room now. Thanks for taking me to the ball, Harry,” I said, smiling and walking away.
  11. I walked all the way back to the Ravenclaw common room and collapsed into bed for the night, just managing to kick off my shoes before drifting off into dreamland. My dreams were filled of dancing and the people I had encountered that night. I never had saved Neville that last dance, and I had never gotten the chance to see how Draco had fared with Pansy. Ron and Oliver probably both hated me, and I had hardly danced with Harry at all, even though he had been my date. All in all, it was a rather confusing and exhausting night. I woke up the next morning with a terrible feeling that something bad was going to happen.
  12. Well, that’s one way to end the Yule Ball, I guess. I had writer’s block for three days once I got to question 9, so I hope it turned out okay. I was watching A Very Potter Musical and A Very Potter Sequel the entire time I was writing this. They're just...amazing. Combine Harry Potter, crude humor, and random bursts of singing, and you get perfection. Anyway, back to stuff that actually relates to the story. There was quite a bit of Ron and Oliver in there, and some Harry, too. Neville and Draco kind of got shoved to the side again, but I promise they’ll become more prominent, especially in the next couple years (at Hogwarts, not in actual time XD). Also, the results might be a little weird because I hadn't planned most of what happened in the quiz at the time. Finally, I would just like to send a quick shout-out to liz_king97 for being such an enthusiastic supporter of my series. Your comments always keep me going every time I doubt my work, and you're a brilliant writer. I would also like to thank anyone who takes these quizzes. It means a lot to me :). Wow, that was a long ending paragraph.
