“Are we there yet?” my annoying twin sister asked as I walked beside her.
“Not yet, Elaine. It won’t be long now,” I said back to her, slightly agreeing that the walk was taking too long. It was getting late and we needed to get back home after a party, but it seemed like we took a wrong turn somewhere. The sidewalk was deserted and no cars were driving by.
“Well, let’s try to lighten the mood while we walk,” I suggested.
“Yeah! That’ll make time go by faster.”
And so, my sister and I proceeded to sing together as we happily skipped along. I was in my casual black t-shirt and jeans while she wore a pink tank top with jean shorts. She was always very girly. We definitely stood out, so we were quickly noticed when someone else stepped foot on the sidewalk. Neither of us heard them, so I didn’t react until I heard the sound of Elaine being suddenly muffled. I stepped forward a little, but then stopped when I realized she was no longer beside me. I quickly turned around to see a man standing behind me with a ginormous sack at his side. Something was wriggling around inside it, so I knew it had to be Elaine.
“Elaine! Let her go!” I tried to scream for help, but before anyone could hear me, the man swung his fist at me and knocked me out. That was the last thing I remembered before I woke up in the backseat of a car. It was moving and I could see my kidnapper right in front of me. I pretended to be asleep, not wanting to cause any trouble, but he noticed me and knocked me out again.
Then when I woke up, I couldn't move. I looked down to see I had been tied up. I was tied to a wooden pole in the middle of a dark room. I tried to call for help, but the tape over my mouth prevented that. However, Elaine called back to me. I saw she was also tied up right next to me. We were in the same situation and things looked bad for us. We could only struggle and call for help until someone came to save us. However, something else happened first.

“I’m free,” I heard Elaine say. I looked over to see she had managed to untie herself. She was always more resourceful than I gave her credit for.
“Mmph!” I said back as I waited for her to untie me. She hurried over to where I was and started to undo my ropes. I sat still and waited until she had me free, then gave her a hug as soon as she rescued me. “Thanks, sis.”
“No problem. Now how do we get out of here?”
That was when we heard another muffled call for help. We quickly looked around the room until we spotted the person it came from. It was a young girl around our age, wearing a short red dress and tied to a stake just like we were. However, she was surrounded by wood chips that were starting to burn. We knew we had to save her and fast.
Elaine and I frantically searched the room, bumping into each other and tearing through drawers until I finally came across something. A conveniently placed bucket of water. It seemed a little too suspicious that someone would put it there, but it was exactly what I needed. Without worrying too much, I grabbed it and rushed over to the tied up girl. Without a second thought, I splashed it all over her, putting out the fire and saving her life. She was a little irritated from being splashed with water, but she seemed relieved. I quickly hurried over to untie her while Elaine made her way to the exit.
"I found it! It's over here!" she called to me as I untied the girl.
"I'll be right there. Go on ahead," I said as I finished freeing her. She didn't even seem grateful. She just stepped down from the stake and looked at me.
"Uh... A 'thank you' would be nice," I said, but she said something else that I didn't expect to hear.
"I'm sorry," she said before pulling a gun on me. Immediately, I tried to scream for help, but before anything could happen, the girl began to sink to the floor. She seemed to be very exhausted, largely unaware of what she was doing. I took the opportunity to run, but soon ran into more troub

Right after Elaine made her escape, my kidnapper had returned along with the rest of his crew. I slid to a halt before backing away, but I only backed up into the other girl, who had only pretended to pass out. She just wanted me to lower my guard. She got me from behind as the guy in front of me cackled.
“Thought you could get away, did ya? Well, it’s too late for you now. You’re ours.”
Things couldn’t have been worse for me. Once again, I found myself kidnapped. My captors quickly led me over to the wooden pole that the girl was formerly tied to. Without wasting any time, they tied me to it once again. I was completely unable to move my limbs and the tape over my mouth prevented me from screaming.
“You had this coming. Thought you could ruin my party?” the girl asked me with a sinister voice. Only then did I see her face up close and realize who she was.
“Sabrina…” I tried to say through the tape on my mouth, but it came out muffled. She had set this up to seek revenge on me for causing a ruckus at her party that day! It was so elaborate, I couldn’t imagine anyone going to such lengths to pull it off. I began to struggle and scream at Sabrina, but she only smiled at me in return.
"Have fun in the fire... since you think you're such hot stuff."
And with that, Sabrina lit the wood chips as she and the others stepped away. They laughed to themselves as they left me behind, not wanting to watch me go up in flames. I struggled as hard as I could and screamed for help at the top of my lungs, but it seemed help would never come. That is... until I heard a voice call to me.
"Psst!"
"Hm? Elaine?" I tried to say when I noticed my sister around the corner.
"Shh! Not so loud. I'm gonna get you out of here!" she said as she made her way over to me. While nobody was looking, she had managed to refill the bucket with water. Within seconds, she had the fire put out. She then hurried to untie me. Once again, I was saved! I seriously owed her.

Elaine quickly undid every rope before helping me down from the pole. I hugged her once again, then we decided to escape together. We ran off and began to search the room for a second time. Thankfully, we remembered where everything was, so we were able to locate a phone. From there, we were able to call the police and let them know what was going on. We didn't have to wait too long for them to show up, so when they did, they arrested Sabrina and the others while me and Elaine were allowed to go free. We waved goodbye to Sabrina as she was driven away in the back of a cop car, then the two of us happily skipped home together once again. Little did we know that yet another adventure would soon await us.
