  • Wait. Ive got some more good quotes.

In daily life, reality gives us material incentives to restrain our irrationality. But what incentive do we have to think rationally about politics? - Bryan Caplan

Politics: A strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles. The conduct of public affairs for private advantage. - Ambrose Bierce

Political action involves mental vulgarity, not merely because it entails the occurrence and support of those who are mentally vulgar, but because of the simplification of human life implied in even the best of its purposes. (Michael Joseph Oakeshott)

In politics we face the choice between warmongering, nation-state loving, big-business agents on one hand; and risk-blind, top-down, epistemic arrogant big servants of large employers on the other. - Nassim Nicholas Taleb

Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country. - Marion Barry

    • Good for you. I can hardly think of a reason to want the so called (perfect) union in todays world, since politics arent capable of anything but that: enriching those who seek its power for more power, & then using it to blame others for their iniquities, same case with religion.

Political language, is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind. - George Orwell

In our age there is no such thing (as keeping out of politics.) All issues are political issues, and politics itself is a mass of lies, evasions, folly, hatred and schizophrenia. (George Orwell)

Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies. - Groucho Marx

It would be nice to spend billions on schools and roads, but right now that money is desperately needed for political ads. - Andy Borowitz

People who consider themselves political, who follow political developments most rigorously, are often those who view the political process with the greatest lack of perspective. - Boyd Rice

Such unwillingness to focus on real problems keeps those who need (real) comfort from ever finding it, no matter how hard they seek it. Those who do not even seek it in themselves then resort to suicide because they then feel like (they cant take it anymore), no surprise. Its proven that Humanitys dated by ~65 million years unless it can get its act together, and look for a way to explore at least its home galaxy.

  • Love is not only apolitical but antipolitical, perhaps the most powerful of all antipolitical forces. - Hannah Arendt

Its a revolution. But its the sort of revolution that no one notices. It may get shadier. Buildings may function better. You may have less money to earn because your food is all around you and you dont have any energy costs. Giant amounts of money might be freed up in society so that we can provide for ourselves better. So its a revolution. But permaculture is anti-political. There is no room for politicians, administrators or priests. And there arent laws either. The only ethics we obey are: care of the earth, care of people, and reinvestment in those ends. (Bill Mollison)

The great rule of conduct for us, in regard to foreign nations, is, in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible. (George Washington)

Republicans should dry-docked & have barnacles scraped off their bottom. - Talulah Bankhead

The role of the scholar is to destroy chimeras, that of the statesman is to make use of them. - Gustave Le Bon

A sort of angry populism in Europe, a sort of anti-political mood? What then steps into its place? In one episode [of Black Mirror] you didnt see, there's a very simple gaming gadget that turns out to be a monstrous idea, which I suspect we will end up doing for real. - Charlie Brooker

Biophobia is as much a part of a politician's basic equipment as a sharp suit. - John Derbyshire

Well, of course I do. And thats because you need to free both your mind and ass, and actually start truly thinking for your goddamn self. Our countrys in dead last for the freedom of its prisoners, and ranks high in its aggregate military spending. Of the democratic Permanent Members of the UN, were the only flawed democracy of the triple group (the other two members of it are Britain & France). The USAs insane military spending and ever-aging armed forces complex put its peace index at #128. Thats not to mention four straight years of nothing but lies (Trump). It contributed to more conflict at home too, with increased strife between governmental forces and the common folk. America places just 25th in the Democracy Index; and its just another sign that we havent contributed to the world struggle between justice and injustice as much as we are told in school. Americans also rank surprisingly low in the Overall Best Countries Index at a mere 6th place on this list in our current era. Americans also scored just 8.46 in 10 on the Freedom Index charts in 2021. Americans also do shockingly poor on the Happiness Index at 18th place with just 6.94 in 10 during our current season. American education is outperformed in multiple departments by the other greatest democracies and even some oligarchies.

Our supposed-to-be educational system doesnt foster real innovation or creativity, but rather just grills into the minds of its students a willingness to be prepared for the near endless hardships of adulthood. It mostly teaches its students to be complacent rather than entrepreneurial. I cant think of a time where our kids really had/have any fun under suc

    • such a crappy system. American military might has repeatedly failed to bring democracy to any countries in all of the years since the end of WW2. Those countries which have democratized since then have either done it peacefully outright, or did it through their own strength. Americans were also not the first to adopt the womens suffrage principle into their law code. (Finland was the first country to give women the right to both vote and hold public office.) The US is also once ranked the 10th most dangerous country in the world for women overall. Worse, it was the only Western nation to make this list. Its also the worst for Rape Crimes in the world. It was also the United States that stood by and did nothing to stop the COVID-19 Pandemic, even as China adopted a surprising amount of safeguards against the virus, even in spite of it originating in their country. Even many of our allies stopped being so materialistic and adopted a plethora of measures to safeguard against the microbe. Americans also rank only 53rd for true gender equality. Americans have the worst carbon footprint both overall and per capita thanks to such undying materialism and their pulling themselves out of the Paris Climate Accord. We have also finally achieved a high-ranking public officer who was impeached (twice). The Americans also rank at just 7th for GDP per capita, and were not the first people in space. (The Russians were.) Bill Mitchell mightve done a perfect Pac-man (3,333,360pts) but was not the first to have done so. Bill Bastable (a Canadian) was the first to have achieved this, but was never credited for it. Mitchell took the cake instead, unlike the Space Race, where both titan/behemoth countries got the credit where it was due. It was also more the USSRs true brokenness that would bring it to its knees and ultimate collapse than American power. The true extent of contributions of other countries in both world wars against the infamous Axis powers is all but forgotten about in th

    • the American classroom. The USA was nearly dissolved outright multiple times during its broken history, not just our Civil War. Contrary to the vile (popular) belief, Taiwan has gone from being an Oligarchy to a flawed democracy in recent years, a bright future for all Asians. Our national debt is now an unbelievable >$2.8*10^12 and continuing to climb in the midst of our endless wars since the end of World War II. Our economys growth rate is only 115th out of the 193 UN Member States too. Our government has shut down almost twenty times since the Ford era. All of the losers in chief since FDR have been just that: an utter joke, due to their repeated failure to bring democracy to the other nations. Even most of our past presidents have had to deal with endless assassination attempts and disease. I can only think of Woodrow Wilson as the one exception to this, due to finally getting womens suffrage into our law. Our politicians are a complete laugh, and have done next to nothing since FDR and Wilson to democratize humanity. Really, Im out of things to say. The USA ranked the worst in the developed world for several other categories too. At this point, I refuse to list them. Youve gotta see it to believe it.

    • Actually, Ive got one more. Americans have repeatedly proven themselves to be unprepared for todays world. Its becoming more and more likely that a breakup of the so called (perfect union) is necessary to make thing better. Many states could even survive without any help from the central government, period; because the states (meaning The People) have proven themselves to be the real force that drives both our nation and humanity forward. None of our failures in chief since FDR and Wilson have been able to fully recognize this for varying reasons. Hopefully, thats all I have to say.

    • No, wait (just in case). I give this stupid quiz a 1/5. Its an utter joke, and fails to grasp the most basic principles of a truly just and free society; including the fact that demonic Adolph Hitler was Pure Evil, and didnt care about anyone. The idea that men and women should cluster in a bunch of overcrowded cities to have as many babies as possible, to trust any (politician) with our salvation when it should be the other way around, to arm ourselves for fighting crap wars that dont do a damn thing for justice, etc, are all it sounds like. Theyre completely dated outright, just like the basic founding of our country on land stolen from the American Natives and labor stolen from the Africans. Its really appearing to me that there really will always be the few who just cant let go of such a notorious past, despite the fact that so many of our allies have done exactly that.

You see, politics and religion exist to enrich those who will always seek power. Simple power is all they entail. Lincoln admitted in a letter to Horace Greeley dated the 22nd of August in 1862 that (saving) the Union meant more to him than (the fate of) the slaves. Those who simply just appreciate one another dont seek power. Therefore, they dont seek either politics or religion, even though they deserve it, and not the charlatans who currently reign in so many lands unopposed. Learning to appreciate each other mitigates the desire for power because people then see there to be no reason to seek power in the first place.

Real love is all they need, and thats how the true power of love so easily overcomes the love for power. The most important cartoons of my youth had main characters who simply appreciated one another, no matter what. Thats the only way I was able to get by with abusive relatives on my moms side & the subsequent embitterment of my primary family as a wee lad. Its the only thing that saved me from becoming as weak and undeserving of real love as them.

    • Yes, you could say that I was saved by the toons. But really, I was saved by those who created them from my embittered relatives on both sides of my family, the abusers who embittered them to begin with and the vile & good-for-nothin Aspergers Syndrome that Ive had to deal with because of it.

This quiz fails to grasp even the most basic principles of freedom & justice. For example, Hitler was Pure Evil and wanted only (everyone) dead just like the satanic demon he really was. Too many Americans fail to prove themselves as prepared for todays world.

    • Like I said, dont listen to the charlatan who created this damn quiz. Just heed my advice, and be off on your very merry way. We should trust George Washingtons advice on what politics really are: no different from the religions.

They exist only for power, which corrupts. And absolute power (religion/politic) corrupts absolutely. One day, we will reach a level where this crap ain't required at all to keep Humanity together.

Continuing to believe the same thing, even in the face of new evidence to the contrary, is the definition of insanity - except in politics where it's called leadership.(ScottAdams)
