Right on target. Born in AZ, lived in AZ, KY, OH, IN, IL, MI, NE, MA, and Iran, but no matter the various places I've lived during my life, the quiz pegged me correctly as "Western" accent.

I'm from Houston, educated in New England, but quiz said I was from Pennsylvania.

Seem s totally off base to me!

I did the quiz and quite a lot of people think, like the quiz, that I come from the north east. In fact, my accent is English. I am from the north west of England but I have been in the USA for a while now.

To me, the name "Mary" and the verb "marry" sound exactly the same. The quiz does not permit choosing that option, though.

West, eh? Raised in Western MACHUSETTS. (The "missing letters" refer to a number of MA Congress Critters.) Have lived 30 yr in SE. Only short visits to W on very few occasions.

Missed my accent. I'm as New England as they come (I drop the "r," I add the "r," etc.). But the quiz has me "Midland." People in the Midland think I talk funny, "kind of like the Kennedys," I've been told.

I am from England so I accept that my (twenty years in America) hybrid accent is definitely closest to New England, except for Boston....

I'm from NYC I took the accent test it said I had a Philly accent. Anyone who's heard me speak can tell I'm from New York, so not super accurate.

my dads friend from chicago told me today i sound like i have a canadien accent, but people here in arizona, ask me if i'm from chicago allllllll the time! and i say pop, not soda.

I'm country as a turnip green with an accent thicker than cornbread batter and this quiz said I have the "no accent accent". Malarky!

Pegged me from the Great Lakes region. I lived in Chicago as a little kid- age 1-6, but have lived most of my life on the West Coast (L.A. with a few years in Seattle). Very odd that it outed me.

Born and lived in Milwaukee, WI until age 28; then lived in Chicago until age 61; then moved to Florida (68 now). Quiz said I may be asked: "Am I from Wisconsin?" or "Am I from Chicago?"

That was pretty cool. According to that quiz I'm from the NorthEast. I am actually from Australia though it was a COOL quiz to take!

Anyone who says that Southern Indiana is the 'midland' accent (or nondescript, as it were) has never been to southern Indiana.

It says I'm midland and since I'm a lifelong Iowan that sounds close enough, but if a midland accent is no accent how come when I do laundry I "warsh cloze"?
