  • Born in Texas, Raised in Texas, Live in Texas. But I got 42% I kinda thought some of the questions were stupid. I took two Texas History courses. Not a help I guess. I am from Texas City, Tx, a town in between Houston and Galveston. A lot of hicks like my grandparents, great grandma, and others that I know. I hate the word y'all, and I can't stand the heat. The only time my accent comes out is when I'm really mad about something. Don't get me wrong, I am so proud to be a Texan, but I'm not sure if I was meant to be from here.

  • Honestly this quiz is really inaccurate and dumb. The question about the state sport, and famous athletes are so stupid.Everyone thinks that anyone from Texas is into football and baseball and has and accent AND is tan.But it is ALL wrong.I am pale, not into football and baseball, doesn't have a southern accent, but I was still born in Texas grew up in Texas and I had a whole project about learning SEVERAL facts about my state. This quiz is just stupid.

  • So what are the correct answers? I'm a native born Texan who knows the State song (& it's NOT "The Eyes of Texas" NOR "The Yellow Rose of Texas," y'all!) & State pledge & State tree & State bird & State motto ... but none of those questions were asked. Can you name the Presidents of the Republic of Texas? They were Sam Houston, Mirabeau B. Lamar, Sam Houston (again) & Anson Jones. Rethink this one; it's incomplete & inaccurate!

    • Definitely. I knew all that and was expecting it. Nope. Bet most people didn't know that Davie Crockett was a lawyer from Tennessee (fact check the Tennessee part not 100% sure). Or that Lamar was a member of the cavalry and wanted to fight of the natives (Apache, Comanche, Kiowa, Witchita, karankawa, tonkawa, and coahuiltecans). Only 42%!? Come on now. Y'all be cray!

  • 8%, seriously? I was born and raised in Texas, and this is based entirely on how much you know about Texas, and what defines a Texan anyway? A test is not something that can tell you that. And literally anyone could get 100% on this quiz after a bit of studying, and that is not what defines a Texan, whatever does define a texan.

  • I have to brush up on my Texas history!!!! I'm DEFINITELY a born and bred Texas gal and proud of it! I DO NOT wear boots or say "YEE HA"!! That's b.s.!!! Texans don't talk nor walk like that. We wear the same shoes Yankees do and pretty much talk the same way. Except for our southern "southun" accents. Proud to be a Texan Y'ALL!!! We DO say "Y'all"!!!

  • I would like to see the answers... my family once had the land grant which is now "The Colony" they came over from England in the 1840's... I thought I knew Texas history inside and out. They did'nt even ask "what is the oldest University in Texas" established in 1836. All you a&m folks it is not Texas A&M...

    • Actually you could be a true Texan. This quiz is just based off of what people THINK Texans are like except we aren't exactly like that.I am only in the 5th grade but whenever I get a chance to honor my state.....I take it!!Its true,we do say y'all alot but never in my LIFE have I said YeE hAh or road a horse or gone to a baseball game.Texans are NO different than anyone else.
