Karl took a few deep breaths, the wave of nausea going away. “How the f--- am I supposed to do that?!” He muttered in exasperation, tears pricking his eyes.

“No, I’m just saying, if you can,” Nick said softly. “If you can’t, don’t worry about it. I’ll get you something to help with the nausea.”

Karl exhaled shakily, nodding. “Sorry, I-I’m sorry…”

“No, you’re okay,” Nick said softly, finishing wrapping up Karl’s hand.

Karl exhaled shakily, fighting off another wave of nausea as he tried to lay back down.

“Okay- I’m gonna go grab you something for that nausea,” Nick said softly after finishing Karl’s hand and leaving the room.

Karl nodded again, closing his eyes as he let himself cry softly. He rubbed his face with his free hand, exhaling shakily. I’m just a f---ing burden to everyone, aren’t I? Just f---ing everything up, right? At this rate, if I can’t get this stupid “eating disorder” under control, I’ll- I’ll be dead- He paused, opening his eyes. Maybe that’d be for the best…

Nick came back in with a syringe, injecting it into one of the IV bags. “Okay- uh, you wanna watch a movie? Or something?” He said, pointing to a TV across the room.

“Sure,” Karl replied quietly, exhaling softly. He glanced over at Nick, watching him for a moment before looking away.

“What’cha feeling?” Nick said, grabbing the remote and heading to Karl.

“Nothing good, that’s for sure,” Karl muttered, exhaling softly. He looked down at his bandaged hand, rubbing his thumb over the wrap on it.

“No- I meant for like, what do you wanna watch,” Nick said with an awkward chuckle.

“Oh- Anything, honestly,” Karl muttered, his face heating up with embarrassment.

Nick chuckled awkwardly, putting some random rom-com on and giving Karl the remote. “If you need anything let me know, okay?”

Karl nodded, taking the remote from Nick. “Thanks- And I’m sorry,” he spoke quietly, watching the ravenette for a moment.
