Octavia smiled and looked directly at Octavia. "On the contrary you're a pretty good person. A bit bad at school but that's nothing in the wide world of opportunities." Octavia said. Secretly, she might have stolen the bit about opportunities from a book, but being good in school wouldn't help much with the path Adrienne was choosing for themselves. Music didn't have a lot to do with school.

“Thank you,” Adrienne repeated, chuckling softly.

"no problem." Octavia said, looking back to her notebook. She started to draw Adrienne, but in a very stylized cartoon way.

Adrienne but down their bag, exhaling softly. “What time is it?” They asked, looking over at Octavia.

Octavia looked to the clock on the wall. "It's about 5 o'clock." Octavia said. She drew the clock hands in her book.

“Guess I’ve got to head to detention-“ Adrienne replied, rubbing their face with their hands. They sighed and stood, grabbing their bag.

"I hope you can get a small nap in during the sitting in silence." Octavia said. She packed away her notebook and set her purple pen in her pencil case.

“I hope so, too,” Adrienne said, sighing softly. “Well, I better head out- See you,” they said, smiling at Octavia before walking off.

"see you tomorrow." Octavia said, waving. She closed her bag and stood up

Adrienne smiled back and waved, walking off. They exited the library and exhaled softly, rubbing their face with their hands as they headed to the classroom detention was being held.

Octavia walked out of the library. It was a pleasant enough temperature for her walk home but she could smell rain in the air.

Adrienne arrived at school the next day, yawning softly. They took a sip of the monster energy drink in their hand, scrolling through their phone with the other as they entered the school.

Octavia walked through the doors at precisely 7 each day. That's how it had always been. She sat at the same table each day. She preferred it that way and it was no different today
