"yep, but I'm the only bee in the orphanage. No swarms of me. I mean, I used to have a big sister but her name wasn't bee it was yessica." Bee said

"Nothing." Harley shrugged. "I'm just bored as hell."

‘Yessica. Did she like bees?’ Billie asked, tracing his finger in the dirt. He picked up the worm again and put it in the small hole he dug.

Onyx nodded shortly, watching Harley for a moment. “You don’t wanna hang out with the others?”

"yessica thought they were cool. She talked a lot about the structures of their hives. Someday I'm gonna get outta here and tell her that bees don't dance." Bee said

Harley shook her head. "No. Do you?"

‘They don’t?’ Billie asked, looking up at her curiously. Someone had read a children’s book to him at the lab. It had said bees danced to communicate.

“No. I don’t really like people,” Onyx replied, hugging their legs to their chest. “They make my wanna rip my skin off my bones sometimes.”

"I've never seen them dance. They do fly funny though." Bee said. She grabbed onto her ankle as a dull ache bubbled up.

"Cheers to that." Harley gave a dry chuckle.

‘Maybe they just dance differently,’ Billie said, grabbing a stick and using it to draw a picture in the dirt.

Onyx chuckled softly, running a hand through their hair. “I try not to act like that, since it’s wrong, but yeah.”

"hmm, I guess that's true. You're pretty smart for a big kid." Bee said. Big kids didn't listen to any of the small differences that changed situations

"Wrong?" Harley was confused by that. "Doesn't everyone feel that way?"

‘What’s a big kid? Does that mean I’m tall or something?’ Billie asked, looking up at her in confusion.
