‘That too. So the animals have nothing to eat so we don’t get much meat,’ Mildred said. ‘I don’t know much about plants, but they don’t like the cold, I don’t think.’

"normal plants do poorly in the snow but... I found ways to make them thrive through even the toughest weather. It hasn't been incredibly useful for my kingdom but if I bring it to the human kingdom your crops will practically grow like grass in the snow." Jack said

‘That could definitely get the king to like you,’ Mildred said thoughtfully.

"I think this old dud of a finding could pave the way to the first real trade between our races." Jack said

Mildred smiled. ‘I think it will work. Even the selfishest of kings can’t deny that offer, right? Plus, it doesn’t involve those stupid traditional peace makers.’

‘Food is good,’ Mildred agreed, smiling. They were close to the castle by now.

Mildred nodded. ‘I think the humans will like blood oranges.’

"I hope so, they've been a hard sell in the past." Jack said

‘Well, I like them, and I’m a human, sooo….’ Mildred grinned. They got to the castle.

The doors of the castle opened. "I guess I should start writing that letter." Jack said

‘You could. Maybe while I read your poetry…~?’ Mildred asked, grinning hopefully.
