You multiple first. You do it in the order of of PEMDAS. Multiplication comes before division. So the answer is 2

If you used PEMDAS, the parenthesis come first. Multiplication and division are on the same level. When it gets down to which is first of the two (and A and S) you go from left to right.

Im assuming theres an actual division sign. Which would me, you multiple 2 by 12 which gives you 24. Then you divide 48 by 24 and you get 2. Parenthesis first, followed by multiplication then division

48/2*(9+3). Thats another way of writing it. And its perfectly legal
48/2*12. Now, you use PEMDAS. M and D are used at the same level, so we go from left to right.
24* 12 now its easy

Oh. Yeah, that's odd. Algebra is odd. I like it though. I guess it's how you look at the equasion.
