There are three divisions of the People: People who go by God, Spiritual people with the natural world (Native Americans and such), and people with "dark arts".
There divivions are kept very seperate. Once you're 16 you decide which division you feel most strongly you belong to. For the next four years you go to a school to learn they're "faith." When you're at school you must go through the Changing, which means each faith sees how well suited you are to the life style. Each person gets some sort of "power" from they're God after the Change. The main character belongs to God's People, and somehow ends up at another school. There she gets an affinity for three powers, each one belonging to the different faiths. She's divergent, which is dangerous because there is a secret Fourth Realm for people like her, which the other three realms want to destroy because they are seen as too powerful.
Really, really, rough draft. Good idea, terrible? How should she get to the school? Be marked with a sign? I need help >.
