  the world is in the attic
  above my head.
  a door
  in the floor
  the key in my throat
  wishing to speak.
  
  a window for me
  dirty hidden behind people
  that are locked doors
  i can't open.
  
  the attic is heavy
  with old memories and
  a leak in its floor.
  can you hold it on your shoulders?
  keep it in your fingers?
  the clock on the wall
  is counting minutes
  when it will all
  slip without
  all of our reach
