That is the worst thing you can say to someone who's depressed. "Be happy!"? Are you crazy?! No one wants to be told by someone that has a great life, happy 24/7 to just "be happy". That shows ignorance! Not everyone can just be happy. Not everyone has a great life where they can just let go and have happiness. Believe it or not, some people have to actually work towards happiness. And ending your life doesn't make it worse for the person. Ending your lifewould mean no more pain and no more emotions. It can't get worse after death, just numb.
