Thread Topic: Common Etiquette on Gotoquiz
-
No one likes someone who constantly uses text talk, or refuses to use proper grammar or spelling or punctuation.
Excessive question marks or exclamation points are not necessary. Nor our the all too common cussing matches.
People here are not tolerant of people advertising quizzes in their threads.
Do. Not. Mess with the older users. As Selena has so often explained, we aren't heartless, but we have a habit of ganging up when someone close to us is called into question.
If you start a fight, you'd better be prepared to feel the repercussions of it for a very long time.
If you spam, you should be prepared to get flamed off the site.
Godplay is not appreciated here. No one will respond to it except to tell you just where you can shove it.
Do not hate on any one group- there will almost always be someone here who is part of that group, and you will hear about it. A lot.
Pity seekers will immediately be shot down. Don't do it.
People here will respond very negatively to desperate threads searching for boyfriends or girlfriends. And most likely, you will not find a boyfriend or girlfriend in the process.
I know soaps are awesome, but if you're going to do a soap, do it right, and stop making new ones every time one of them pauses. It's annoying as hell.
If anyone who actually knows what they're talking about has anything to add, please do so. -
Don't use certain words unless you know the proper term and when and where they should be used.
That is all. :) -
Thank you for your contribution.
Here, a direct quote from BarberBob. (a citation :3)
"1. Use proper spelling. Period.
2. Don't start a fight if you arent willing to finish it maturely.
3. Pity parties will get you more enemies that friends.
4. Spamming is the third lowest level of shame. You will be hated for it. Make no mistake.
5. If GTQ gives you relationship advise, take it. We are trying to help you.
6. Threads are public for a reason. If you are going to be negative to someone joining your thread, don't post it in GTQ.
7. On the other hand, if you are joining someone's thread, be respectful of the topic and dont try to advertise or start s---.
8. If you ask for peoples opinions, be prepared for negative, as well as positive.
9. Seclusion and hatred are the second lowest level of shame. Dont attack someone or ignore them if they are trying to right their wrongs.
10. Religious debates are just that. They are debates. They are held between two people who fully understand that they will probably not convert the other. They are held for clarity and understanding.
11. Using the GTQ account to troll is the absolute lowest level of shame. And you know it is.
12. Anything and Everything you want to post has its own section, please be respectful of that.
13. GTQ Guy is our supreme ruler. He is gracious and kind to us. You may ask him for help or present your ideas to him, but insulting him will not stand under any circumstances.
14. To newbs, this is not what you think it is. You do not own this site. You hold no athority here. Remember these things and we will embrace you with open arms. Failure to do so and we will put you down.
15. GTQ is a safe haven from the real world. A place where we are all equals and we can all communicate without consequence. We are a community. We dont have to like each other. But we do need to respect each other. " -
The new role playing site is wonderful and I highly recommend it for soap lovers. When you do a soap, try to come up with a good story and well developed characters. Don't use the same perfect character over and over again. Give them flaws, make them believable. If you're going to do romance, add something more, just two people falling in love is a terrible story. It needs more than that.
Thank you. -
Another thing: Have fun. Not war. XDDD

This is a recurring thing. I think most of us have made threads like these. Remember this? It was a lot more heated, but basically the same thing, along with Bob's thread which is quoted above.
Come on, people. Just be a good person. It's not that difficult. -
^^

Don't bring back Really old threads. It can make the older users nostalgic, maybe even disappointed, when they see their old friend isn't back. Bringing back old threads can hurt, so don't do it.

Some dumb/ass brought back one of lolzers threads yesterday (she died) :|
