I've never understood "pet rent". Like yeah, people have severe allergies and stuff, so no pet apartments are somewhat reasonable, but why the hell would you charge extra for someone having a petš make it make sense

no offense the available housing in my area is far and few between, much less pet friendly ones, and iām not getting rid of my babies. i will lie and hide them if i have to, as much as iād prefer to just be honest in a pet friendly place

my cats are quiet, clean and well behaved anyway

^^^Ohhhhh that's so fair. I haven't gotten to the point where I have to rent a place, so my perspective may be totally out of line.
pet rent is way stupid. If they mess up the property, sure, you'd have to pay a fine, but paying extra just for having a creature in your home? bs -
nahh you're all good, hopefully by the time you're ready to make that step, things will improve in the housing market

also we spend enough money on pets as it is, food, tanks or litter boxes, toys, leashes and harnesses for dogs, scratching posts for cats, lamps for lizards, vet visits,like does my pet rent come with these perks involved? like if im paying for a literal dog or cat to be here you should provide its healthcare and own living costs... -
the apartments should provide it, I mean. because for the most part I don't think the other rentees care.
I used to live in an apartment when I was a toddler, had a ton of cats. they were quiet and didn't bother the neighbors so like... -
