Here's what I told everyone
Today I'm deciding to take a break from social media for a bit. (only apps I use are snap, twitter and ig) This decision is something that I really took time today to think about. I spend a lot of time on social media, as a way to try to escape from the problems that I have, and its not a good way to. It's not working as it used to. I used to use it as a way to distract my mind and the millions of things racing around in it, but it's not helping me anymore like it used to.
I'm not in a good place in life right now. I'm not as happy as I used to be, and constantly flipping between snapchat, instagram and twitter is doing nothing to improve my mood. I'm not as social and interactive with other people like I used to be. As ridiculous as it may seem, it's almost as if constantly being on social media stripped away my ability to be social. It's not healthy. And using my unhappiness as an excuse to browse social media to "escape" is even more unhealthy.
I used to find joy in so many things like drawing, and spending time with people I love, and now trying to find ways to be and stay happy seems like it's a task.
I can't keep hiding my problems. I need to tackle them head on. So for the time being, I'll be inactive on social media. I'm willing to give my phone number to anyone who wants to talk to me. I'll eventually return, as some social media apps are the only way I keep in contact with some friends, but for now, it's time for change. It'll take a lot of effort, but I think it's what I need. When I feel like it's the right time to, and when I'm at the right place in life, I'll be back. Thank you ✌
So yeah, kinda figuring myself out for the time being -
