why can't white people say nigga? i can understand the part of it being that the n word was used for slaves in the slave trade
but... if blacks are so offended by the slave trade then why do they call themselves niggas

Okay, I don't think anyone should use that word. It's really stupid to start with.
When black people call each other the n word it's really a form of down grading our own kind. Caucasian people shouldn't say it either because that word really ins't funny in any way. -
