Can someone tell me what a country is vs a county
-
A country is the domain of a government that is independent of another. A county is the name for a smaller political seat that as a group make up a state.
In other words, a state has counties. And the United States is a country. -
Country: An area of land designated by borders, containing (usually) a capital and sometimes multiple districts (I.e. States, districts)
County: Territorial division of a country. For example, I live in the US, but I also live in Osage County. Osage isn't a country, but it's in one. -
In the US, the country is divided into states, and the states are divided into counties.
Example: I live in Apple County, Ohio. -
Ohhhhhhh. Okay, thanks everyone! I never knew that.
