Just plain darkness.
I put down the tablet pen. This time I remembered to put it on the table so no accidental weight was put on it in my sleep. Well, my soon to be slumber. It was 3:14 am and that was the time I dove in to rest.
My computer shut down, I tucked myself in to bed, and then shut my eyes,
Just plain darkness.
I'm a person that doesn't dream. Nor do I really care if one occurs or not. Mostly because when I do, it's either a nightmare... or some weird ass dream that included flight. But this time I was wrong. There WAS a dream. The vivid images popped in my head.
Just red.
My body was in rags. Torn apart by some creatures. Disgusting creatures.... they're own bodies were torn as much as mine. A greenish tint in they're seeming to be decayed skin. On the inside I was suffering from this horrid imagery. The outside was suffering just as much. My body twitched, and my head shook, as if I was trying to shake off the monsters attacking me. I.. I just can't deal with this. It's not happening in real life but it was still as painful.
There was something that stood out from this dream. A putrid scent it my nose like a runaway train. That was my breaking point. I attempted to force myself to wake up. It's as if my lids won't budge. No matter how hard I try to pull them apart. That's it. I've had enough. This is like f---ing torture!
My eyes flew open.
When they did, the anxiety and paranoia didn't stop there. Hallucinations riddled my pupils.

It's still there. Why is it still there?!
I began to breath heavily. My chest heaved up and down. My body jolted up and I tried my best to calm down. After a few deep inhaling and the finishing exhale, I was reserved.
Thank goodness... the visions finally disappeared. A chuckle escaped my throat. It was funny how much I overreacted, I mean, it was JUST a dream. My eyes wandered up.
I looked at it.
And it looked back. -
