Like being a good actress? Trying to star in the movie of your dreams?
That's what I am scared about. I feel like I will never be able to achieve these dreams. I feel like they will never happen.
Everyone says "you cannot give up on your dreams!" but...how am I suppose to make them happen, if I don't have the power to do it? How? Years and years I have always tried not to give up on my dreams but there are so many obstacles that I can't get through. My sister tells me I can't act, I realized that I can't my movie of my dreams into a movie because...actresses can't make movies! I can't write either...
When I was little, I wanted to become different things. I first wanted to be a chef, but that didn't work for me. I didn't cook good. I don't know what to boil, make, break. Then I wanted to become a singer. But then I realized that I didn't know how to write lyrics.
Then I wanted to be a plastic surgeon. But then I told myself, "You can't do that! You hate cutting things open and putting things in and wiping blood away!"
Then...I noticed...That I had to be an actress. I noticed that because everyday I go to the bathroom and I act in front of a mirror. So I wanted to become an actress. -
I wonder that a lot, considering only two people in real life have ever even vaguely encouraged me.

L4ZYSN1P3R NewbieI think about it all the time the fear of having the chance to do what you always want but messing while doing it and then fearing to do it ever again.

That's the spirit, absol. :3
I think the most important thing when it comes to dreams is find what you honestly can see yourself spending your life trying to achieve. You're going to need to build skills and do some things that suck along the way, so if your heart isn't truly in it, you're not going to follow through.
When I was a kid I wanted to be a musician, but in reality I just really enjoyed singing. Having to tour, sing the same songs all the time, and do all those things that are necessary to become a successful musician didn't appeal to me. That's why now I consider music my hobby; the thing that just brings me joy and I do from time to time.
For me, writing has always been something I like and feel like I'm pretty good at. Currently I have at least one story in my mind that is very detailed and has the potential of becoming a series of books. I'm currently facing challenges and trying to improve as a writer, but even when I do the work and not so fun parts, I feel like it's worth it because I truly love writing.
All I can say now is crush those negative thoughts before they spread. I get that doubt as well, that oh maybe I'll never make it. I mean there are plenty of decent writers in the world, and it's a competitive industry, but doubt isn't going to help. The world's going to doubt you anyway, so at least be on your own side. If you're willing to work hard, improve and believe in yourself, I believe you can do it, because the people who actually do make it weren't the ones who gave up when things got tough.
Also, you likely have a very long life ahead of you. Just because you don't make it at a very young age doesn't mean you'll never make it. Keep doing what you love and stay patient. Don't give up. -
Thank you Anastasia :)
That really helped.
