My mom got mad at me for participating in Day of Silence. Not like she's ever thought, "Wow, I might never be able to get married." She's never been worried about being shamed for love.

Damn. Sounds like she needs to lay off. Pretty much everyone I know participated. I'm worried about that same thing Selena. If I do find someone I'd want to marry them.

Day of Silence is a huge thing at our school. You're weird if you DON'T participate at least once.

And then she got mad when I told her she gets annoyed frequently, and that I wasn't really surprised at what she said. Anyway, I was forced to start speaking again, half an hour earlier than I planned. Most of my friends participated. It was great.

Same, Appa. Then again, I go to one of the most liberal schools in the area. Teachers are actually told that unless we have a presentation, they can't force us to speak in any way.
