^ That's called comic relief. Scrat's brief scenes distract you from the dramatic sequences of the film, which makes it all worthwhile.
I like how Diego had a change of heart, despite his devious intentions of getting Manny and Sid ambushed by Soto and his pack. He did genuinely regret it, seeing as how he saw that Manny was more than just a bad-tempered mammoth. Diego saw something far greater: a loyal friend with a heart of gold. Although Diego still thinks of Said as a major idiot, he deeply cherishes his friendship and devotion with the sloth. -

Kish- I teared during "Shrek", during the "Hallelujah" montage. That song is heartbreaking but beautiful...
And in the final film, when Shrek was fading from existence, and he mouthed: You know what the best part of today was? I got the chance to fall in love with you all over again.
