  He takes her because she starts screaming and shiznit and then he grows very protective of her. He bonds with her and she grows to care for him. He loves her so much he dies for her...hence the saying "twas beauty that killed the beast"

  Anri- Sounds exactly like "The Hunchback of Notre Dame". Esmeralda was the first and only person to see past Quasimodo's deformity, and see an angelic soul. As you previously stated, it wasn't love.
