So, it's a few years in the future. Scientists have discovered a way to infuse powers into people. They track down and spy on certain individuals that they think fit the bill for infusing powers. However, the procedure to infuse powers is incredibly painful, and to make sure the indiviual can handle the pain, they capture the individual and torture them, building up their endurance. A girl (charrie 1) gets captured and the process of torture begins, while a guy (charrie 2) who has already been given powers falls in with her and rescues her.

I was vaguely aware of my ragged breathing. I had no idea who was chasing me, but they're intentions were obviously not good. I couldn't hold out much longer. -
I ran easly and fastly after the target. She seemed to be slowing. I smiled to me self. I was not even sweating.
