I know I should mind my own business but as I was driving home today I noticed three small dogs tied up in someones back yard,they had little houses,food and water...but they looked filthy and were itching like crazy.I always pass by this house and see them there.I saw them because the people had no fence and I could see into the back.I dunno it just made me sad to see the pups like that.I know theres probably reasons their tied up...but still...

It could be considered neglect.

If they had food and water then technically it's not abuse, but it's not good treatment of them, ya know? You couldn't get anything legal on them, but personally, I'd hate to see it, too.

I guess so.I mean its like...I never understood why would you have small indoor dogs if you were just going to put them on a short leash outdoors all day.Bigger dogs I understand but little ones..just no.

I wouldn't consider it animal abuse. And just because a dog is smaller, doesn't mean that they shouldn't be outdoors as much as a larger breed.

There used to be a house up the street from me and they had a poodle looking dog and it was always outside and panting. Me and my sister always felt really bad, but assumed it would be okay. Then it just disappeared. .-. You never know.

Thats another thing that bothers me,since they have no fence any other dog could come by and attack them >.> and it be harder for them to defend themselves if they're on a leash...

I know,but I mean they're called indoor dogs for a reason.But to each his own I guess..

O_o that's a good point. If it makes you feel better you could try and call the animal patrol people.

There's no such thing as indoor or outdoor dogs. There are such things as lap dogs though. But they still go outside and should be taken on walks as much as larger breeds.

as the above said,it probably won't be enough since they do have food and water.i see nothing wrong with dogs being tied up as long as they are not out there all day XP like when its really cold or really hot.

I do know the people who know those people,not well though.But next time I run into to them I could ask them about it,perhaps.
